1.1 What is FBB (Fleet Broadband) system?
- Fleet Broadband (FBB) is the worldwide satellite communication
system for vessels.

- It is the system expanding Land BGAN system to the maritime

mobile use.
(Ship’s motion, automatic satellite tracking, and spot-beam
handover are fully supported )

- It supports the services equivalent to Land BGAN system.

- Compared with the Fleet system, higher rate communication is

enabled. (Fleet : up to 64Kbps -> FBB: up to 432Kbps)

- Two types of models are available by the communication speed.

Units to be replaced (repair parts) are:
 ACU (NCL-362)
 RFU (NAF-247)

1) Open the Radome

If there is an enough place like compass deck or etc, put down

the removed Radome there.

If the installation site is on the high pole, hook the Radome

safety strap (stored inner the Radome) to the Radome and the
Radome base, to prevent the Radome’s falling off.

2) Replace the unit.

3) Close the Radome.
Taking care that the strap does not twin.
6. Maintenance
6.2 BDE
BDE should be replaced by whole unit.
Do not forget the taking out of SIM card when BDE is
replaced.

6.3 OIU
