The Main Reason

Why human behaviour has become an important part of architecture?

the basic premise: architecture design is for humans

the common sense of architect is not the common sense of the users. simply because the
one has been subjected to a professional training and the other has not

the architect prioritirs for aesthetics over functional facroes may be exactly the opposite
of the user priotities

architecture have not fully considered user need but rather based on standards or norms

many finding indicate that some architectural designs that are considered failed by the
users.

What is the basic human needs?

 There are 5 experts: Ardrey, Maslow, Leighton, Murray and Peterson. But the most popular is
the Maslow's theory

How Should Architect Design?

Architects should consider the concept of behaviour phenomena

perilakunya

antropometri, procemics, dll adalah concept dan metode

dunia adalah setting yg luas

Who Are Users?

some user group has different needs and behaviour

some are children and some are elderly

some are handicapped, different cultures, and different social economics

Where Are Setting or Places??

setting or place is space where people use for doing something or to do sime activity

setting tidak hanya ruang saja, bisa menyangkut furnitur, interior, dan juga exterior

setting juga termasuk building, urban area dan juga kota

 How People Behave in the Setting or Place
prinsip: tergantung pada kebutuhan dasar manusia

the formation of a person's behavioyr is a multi determinants process, which is influence

by many factors (social, cultural, economic)

perilaku manusia memiliki banyak proses yg dipengaruhi banyak faktor, sosial,

ekonomu, umur. dan faktor-faktor itu berhubungan.

Failure Indicators in Architecture

architecture design is claimed to "fail" when the designs pay less attention to the
behaviour of its users
example:

uncomfortable chair because the size doesnt fit with the user

a family room that is rarely used for interaction between family members

a useless park in a residential area
