Subject Description:
The course is offered to Senior High school students and one of the core subjects under the Senior High
School curriculum. It’s goal is to help students realize and descover their potential as they go and face
the world. It is a way for students to assess their skills and qualitites, consider their aims in life and set
goals in order to realise and maximizes their potential. In this course the students are expected to:
 Identify one’s strengths ad weaknesses
 Evaluate one’s own thoughts, feeling and behaviors and try to connect between thoughts, feelings
and behaviors.
 Know the developmental stages in middle and late adolescence and how to cope with the
challenges and stress in those stages.
 Appraise Personal and Social relationships in the middle and late adolescence
 Understand the concepts about mental health and well-being in middle and late adolescence.
 Emotional intelligence
 Importance nad roles of family structures and legacy
 Insights into one’s personal development and career pathways.
ABOUT THE MODULE SUBMISSION

Hi! Ms Gail here, you Personal Deveoplent Instructor. I am a licensed teacher with a degree on
Secondary Education Major in Biological Science from St. Theresa’s College. As much as I want
to meet all of you in person for a face to face learning,I am afraid Modular learning is the new
nnormal until such time we beat the threat of Covid-19. If you have any concerns and questions

So what is Personal Development? How is it important especially in this time of new normal? Personal
development is a lifelong process. It is a way of learning and relearning one’s self as we step into the
world of adulthood. Each and everyone of us have our own perception or expectation of the real world.
With this course we also to equipped you physically, emotionally, spiritually as you face your battles
head on and adapt to the every changing reality of life.

To be that person, before we can truly understand the world around us, let us first understand one’s self.
What makes us or breaks us? Who really are? Whay are we here? who are we here for? It is a complex
and truly amazing discovery, just keep an open mind and an open perspective.
II.ACTIVITY
2.1 Getting to know myself. Let us take a trip of knowing ourselves and try to think how much we truly
know ourselves and how others persive us. In this exercise. Choose the first thing that comes into your

Every ones in a while it’s nice to take a break from your busy schedule and experience the world of art
firsthand. Some of us go to concerts or plays, some take u p dance or a musical instrument, others tr
their hands at carfts. And of course there’s always a trip to the museum.

take it in, when a total stranger comes up alongside you and says something to you. WHICH OF THE
