ED 8- TECHNOLOGY FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING

NON-DIGITAL MATERIALS
1. How do you develop simple instructional materials as shown in the video?

A teacher shouldn’t be always relying on high-tech technology when it comes to instructing

the students, considering that there are various ways that we can use in the classroom which are
convenient, easy and simple that also make the students active and engage throughout the
discussion. The video just showed ideas and tips on how to develop simple instructional
materials in the classroom. For instance, cardboard box, cardboard paper and adhesive foam
board. The cardboard paper can be turned into a simple choice/s board by using velcro that
attaches to the cardboard, which is easily removed if the student is choosing between things.
Another, the cardboard box that turned into a cube that could be used in presenting a color,
numbers and recognizing symbols. Utilizing this material can create simple, fun, wacky
sentences considering its lightweight and can easily pass. Lastly, adhesive foam board that can
be turned into flashcards that are used to create meaningful sentences using pictures, letters or
words that are attached to it. By using these materials, we also encourage the child to be a writer
or author. Indeed, the video is helpful and essential considering we will become a future
teachers, and, as a teacher we must be resourceful and creative in all various ways even using
simple things that we often seen in our surroundings and used it when imparting knowledge to
students in order to make learning effective and achieve the goals and desired learning
objectives.
