Start writing your answers here:

1. Is morality subjective? Why or why not? Defend your answer.

For me morality is not subjective why not Because God determines morality, it is not
subjective. Should you, for example, steal from someone? No, since God declared it to be
sinful. Should you have sex with a lady who isn't your wife? No, since God declared it to be
a sin. In other words, God, not people, determines morality.

2. As far as morality is concerned, what makes politics “unethical’? Cite some examples that
will support your claim.
Many criticize that politicians are not ethical, that they are more concerned with gaining and
retaining power than with ensuring the well-being of the public. But are both goals compatible?
Political ethics and personal morality are not always aligned. Some would argue that politicians
should stick to universal principles such as justice or fairness to better rule us. On the other
hand, political realists would argue that there is no room for ethics in politics or that the ethical
principle that rule citizens’ behavior should not bound politicians. In fact, political leaders throughout
history very often had to make unethical decisions to advance the interests of their nation or
faction.

For example
 A person running for office knowingly tells lies about their own political position or about the
political position of their opponent just to get elected
 An elected official uses their position of power to coerce lobbyists into buying expensive
gifts for them and for their spouse.

3. Should all the laws always be based on moral standards? Why or why not?

4. What is a moral dilemma? Give a real-life example based on your own experiences.
A moral dilemma is a circumstance in which a person is torn between doing the right thing and
doing the wrong thing, and it examines a person's underlying ideals and values. The individual may
feel burdened, guilty, relieved, or unsure about their values as a result of their decision. Moral
dilemma is commonly used in psychology and philosophy lectures to help students think through
the logic behind their views and behaviors.
Like this example based on my experience I have a best friend since we were still in high school I
consider him like a real brother until he became a girlfriend and he loves me very much so I'm
happy with my friend because he already has a girlfriend as a friend I'm also sad because our
bonding as a best friend will be reduced but I'm also happy because he's happy with his girlfriend
but there was an incident where I caught my best friend's girlfriend with another man so I have to
decide whether to tell my best friend what I saw or whether I should just keep what I found out a
secret
