WHAT IS CHARLIE BROWN’S CARING TREE?

It’s important (and fun!) to care for the people around you, from your friends to your family to your
community. With Charlie Brown’s Caring Tree, you can celebrate caring and see how kindness grows!

HOW TO MAKE CHARLIE BROWN’S CARING TREE

There are a few ways to make your tree:
1. Use a tree in your own backyard, or a plant in your home.
2. Draw a tree on a large whiteboard or chalkboard.
3. Use Woodstock’s tree on page 2.
4. Get creative! With adult supervision, repurpose materials from
around your house to build and glue together a caring tree sculpture!
When you do something nice for someone, cut out one of the hearts on
page 3 (and print more or make more out of construction paper when
you run out!). Write down your act of caring on the heart. Then, use
tape or glue to attach the heart to the tree. If you’re using a real tree,
just punch a hole in the top of the heart, thread a string through the
hole, tie the string into a loop, and hang the heart on the tree!

• Tell your friends and family you love them
• Pay someone a compliment
• Ask someone about their day
• Lend a friend a helping hand
• Catch up with an old pal
• Write a handwritten letter to someone

• Bake something sweet for a friend (with parent supervision)

• Create an arts and crafts project with someone—or for someone!
• Draw someone’s portrait
• Give canned goods to a local food bank
• Donate old clothes to a local thrift store
• Pick up trash in your home and around your neighborhood
