Gospel of Luke, after Jesus finished His prayer,
one of His disciples asked Him to teach them
how to pray (Luke 11:1). This was how the
Lord’ s Prayer came about.

祷告是一门易学难精的功课。每个基督徒似
乎都懂，但却又是无法把握。按路加福音的
记载，当耶稣祷告之后，一个门徒求耶稣教
导他们祷告 ( 路 11:1) ，这便是主祷文的由

The Origin of the Lord's Prayer

Please note that this event happened in the later
stage of Jesus’ ministry; His disciples had been
sent twice to towns and cities to preach and
drive out demons, and they had achieved good
results (Luke 9:2, 10:1). They were definitely not
newbies in the truth.

However, as they looked at how Jesus prayed,

they realised straightaway that their prayer life
was way too shallow and superficial. Hence, they
made a very wise request: Lord, teach us to
pray! Up till today, we are benefitting from this
request.

主祷文的由来
留意这事发生在主耶稣事奉的后期，
门徒已经两次被差派出去到各城各乡
传道赶鬼，并卓有成效 (路9:2, 10:1)。
他们绝不是初出道的菜鸟。
但当他们见到耶稣的祷告，马上察觉
到他们的祷告生活何其肤浅，并做了
一个十分有智慧的请求：求主教导我
们祷告！直至今天我们仍然受惠于这
个门徒的请求。

First, we must understand one important matter. Jesus said, “And when you
pray……Pray then like this:” What He requires of us is not parrot-like
praying, repeating every word. “And when you pray, do not heap up empty
phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their
many words.” (Mt 6:7)

The Lord Jesus had left a good example for us to follow. It is like a
calligraphy master leaving his writings as an example for his disciples to
learn and practise. Before we dwell deeper into the content of the Lord’s
prayer, let us look at its structure. The Lord’s Prayer can be divided into
four sections:

1) Confession 2) Three Wishes

3) Three Pleas 4) Praise

我们首先要明白一件重要的事，当主说：“你们祷告的时候，要
说 …”，祂绝不是要我们祷告时鹦鹉学舌，一字不漏的照说一
遍，否则的话我们便是 “像外邦人，用许多重复话，他们以为话
多了必蒙垂听。” (太6:7)
主耶稣是给我们一个示范，就好像书法大师家，留下墨宝，让
子弟揣摩临摹。在进一步思考主祷文的内容时，让我们先明白
主祷文的架构。主祷文的内容共分为四部份：
1) 认信 2) 三愿
3) 三求 4) 颂赞
