Do you like/enjoy the way you are being educated right now?

The pandemic really has changed the way we live, halted the usual things we do, and disrupted
our dynamic routines. Since the pandemic emerged, our eventful engagement to others as a student is
no longer on the list. We students were made to comply in this so-called flexible learning system that
was created by the higher-ups, that is considered to be the “new normal”, which they think could help
the education system of the country progressive even amidst the pandemic, as if that we will never get
the chance to go back to what we used to be, to what the world used to be. There is just one thing that
is absolute, the resources we have, and situations we confront are never, and will never be the same for
any of us.

If I am being asked if I precisely “enjoy” the way the education system is right now, and how we
are being taught, well to tell you the truth, my answer is both yes and no. First, as aforementioned, each
and everyone of us faces different dilemmas, each have their own struggles, and this flexible learning
has a profound impact those who are less unfortunate, that is the truth, and indeed, it was terribly sad.
This is just my opinion as a student, but the load of works is way heavier than when it was a face-to-face
class, and it is taking a toll to me, not just physically, but also mentality. If I may be honest, these online
classes are making as work like robots, it is like we are not learning at all (though I am not saying that
this is the case for everyone for all students have different levels of acquiring lessons) , and for some, the
online class seems to be just a race of deadlines. Though, it is a good thing that some educational
sectors are inherently enforcing “academic ease” that aims to give time for students to rest and take it
easy occasionally. Additionally, it is also fortunate to have some reliable and considerate professors and
teachers who value their students’ health and well-being, for me, they play such great roles in changing
one’s life considerably. Moreover, there is a significant difference between studying with everyone and
learning alone in front of a monitor. We are humans are social beings, and the fact that we students
never get to unwind with our friends and classmates after every class and after a whole tiring day makes
me long for some.

During the early stages of this so-called "flexible learning," we students were never
given an option except to remain tough and put up with it, it is not like I am against it, it’s just that it was
too tiring, and made me contemplate if is this really was the great setup for us. As I dwell on things, I
thought that this online setup we are practicing presently, may be good in its own accord. First and
foremost, the outside is still dangerous, for the COVID-19 cases are not decreasing as we hope it to be.
Learning inside the house at my own pace may not be bad at all, because we students are able to keep
ourselves safe, as well as our family, if I were to look at the greener side of the grass. Also, in terms of
practicality, the online classes do not require us to commute and go to school everyday thus, is very
convenient for saving up money, especially that the world is in chaos right now, and the country’s
economy is plummeting resulting to greater prices hike.

Overall, the way that I am learning right now, the way that the education system works right
now, might adequate, but is not perfect, so I hope that in the near future, the needs of the students will
be addressed more than enough, and our words will be loud enough for the others to be heard. I know
that the other educators are giving their best shot so, I will be doing my best what ever circumstances I
may encounter.
