1 Scope

This specification together with the Purchase Order covers the minimum requirements
for men's short sleeve shirt that is used by Industrial Security personnel. Shirts to this
specification are stocked by size under SAMS SAP Material Numbers 1000218970,
1000218974, 1000218978, 1000219035, 1000219171, 1000219178, 1000219214,
1000219311 and 1000219319.

2 Conflicts and Deviations

2.1 Any conflicts between this specification and other applicable Saudi Aramco
Materials System Specifications (SAMSSs), Engineering Standards (SAESs),
Standard Drawings (SASDs), or industry standards, codes, and forms shall be
resolved in writing by the Company or Buyer Representative through the
General Manager, Industrial Security of Saudi Aramco, Dhahran.

2.2 Direct all requests to deviate from this specification in writing to the Company or
Buyer Representative, who shall follow internal company procedure SAEP-302
and forward such requests to the General Manager, Industrial Security of Saudi
Aramco, Dhahran.

2.3 If conflicts or deviations arise between this Specification and other Purchase
Order documents not specifically covered as exceptions by the Purchase Order,
the Buyer shall be consulted and a ruling shall be obtained by the manufacturer
in writing before work proceeds. Industrial Security reserves the right to review,
test and reject any manufacturer's uniform shirt before acceptance.

All referenced Specifications, Standards, Codes, Forms, Drawings, and similar material
shall be considered part of this Specification to the extent specified herein and shall be the
latest issue (including all revisions, addenda, and supplements) unless stated otherwise.

4 Material and Manufacturing Requirements

4.1 Color

The color will be light beige with samples to be provided by Industrial Security.

4.2 Shirt Material

65% Polyester and 35% Rayon blend - Tropical - Weight 167 g/m².

4.3 Tailoring

It is imperative that this garment be constructed according to the principles set


forth in the specifications. All stitches must be of proper tension and size so as
to avoid puckering after shirt has been laundered and to give best durable press
performance.

All sewing shall be with dacron core cotton wrapped thread to match shirt
fabric.

The collar is to be single stitched 6 mm from edge. The pockets and flaps shall
be single stitched on the edge. All stitching will be specified per 25.4 mm.
Minimum stitching will be 8 per 25.4 mm with a maximum of 12 stitches per
25.4 mm. Special stitch information different from this will be individually
described in the specification.

All seam allowances are to be maintained so that there are no raw edges, run off,
twist, pleats, puckers, loose threads or open seams. All seams are to be secured
by other seams and/or back tacked not less than 13 mm. Thread breaks shall be
over stitched at least 13 mm on either end of break.

4.4 Collar

The points, medium spread, are to be approximately 76 mm in length. The back


of the stand is to measure 38 mm.

The leaf shall be made of four pieces, two pieces of self-cloth one whole lining
and one piece of strip lining which is to be fused to collar lining. Both pieces of
lining to be fused to top collar.

Permanent collar stays of proper length are to be sewn through bottom leaf. The
stand shall fasten with one button. Inner stand and inner yoke to be made of
matching 65% dacron polyester/35% combed cotton. 119.1 grams per 836 cm²
(4.2 pz. per square yard) 106 x 58.

4.5 Sleeves

Sleeves are to be straight and whole with 25 mm hem and shall finish 241 mm in
length.

The sleeves must be secured to the body of the shirt by means of a merrow stitch
with a safety stitch so as to properly strengthen the seam. This same stitch must
be used on the side closing seams as well.

4.6 Front

Each front shall have a facing approximately 38 mm in width extending from


neckline to bottom of shirt provided by a turnunder of material. The left front
shall have seven (7) buttonholes 19 mm from edge. First at neck, second 64 mm
down, balance 89 mm apart. Buttons to be strongly attached through two
thickness of material forming right front and shall correspond to each
buttonhole.

4.7 Back

There is to be yoke composed of an outer piece of the same material as the basic
shirt, and an inner piece of poplin.

4.8 Pockets

There shall be two pockets, with mitred corners, 143 mm and 152 mm deep.
There shall be a pencil stitch in the right side of the left pocket, 32 mm wide.
Both pockets to have a 38 mm box pleat stitched top and bottom to prevent
spreading.

4.9 Pocket Flaps

To have two scalloped flaps to finish 146 mm in length, 70 mm in width at


center and 64 cms in width at sides. Flaps to be secured to front of shirt with
two rows of stitching approximately 6 mm above top of pocket. The left flaps to
have a pencil opening, about 38 mm in width. Flaps to be interlined. There will
be a matching button and buttonhole sewn on the flap. The side points of the
flaps are to be secured to the pockets by means of Velcro type fasteners sewn
onto the flaps and pocket.

4.10 Badge Tab

To be reinforced with a strip of material 38 mm wide turned and stitched so that


no raw edges are showing on the inside of the shirt. This strip is to be long
enough so that it is securely caught in the shoulder joining seam and the flap
setting stitch. The strip will be of different lengths depending on shirt size.

There are to be two horizontal woven eyelets 32 mm apart, with the bottom eyelet
38 mm above the left flap. Eyelet should be woven with 80 stitches per eyelet.

4.11 Shoulder Straps (Epaulattes)

The shoulder straps shall be pointed at the end towards the collar of the shirt and
shall be fastened with one button. The other end shall be secured in the sleeving
seam.

Shoulder straps shall measure 51 mm at sleeve head and taper to 35 mm at


bottom-end. Shoulder straps to be set about 13 mm from collar. Straps shall be
box stitched to shoulders with row of cross stitching 51 mm from sleeve head
seam, and diagonally across from each end of seam to the sleeve head seam.

4.12 Buttons

All buttons will be the 4 hole type and are to be made from therm-setting
polyester material and shall match the color of shirt fabric.

One additional button will be furnished with each shirt and will be sewn at the
bottom of the right inside front.

4.13 Collar Stays

The collar stays shall be of good quality Stalar vinyl, 64 mm in length and
10 mm in width.

4.14 Interlining

Collar to be lined with 100% Dacron. Flaps to be 6800 crease and tack.

4.15 Labeling

All shirts shall have a permanent label sewn to the inside of the shirt attached to
the yoke. The material for the label should be permanent to withstand repeated
washing for the life of the garment. The label should be made of soft material
and not irritating to the skin. The label should contain the following
information:
1. Manufacturer's name and country of origin.
2. Manufacturer's stock/lot number.
3. Neck size.
4. Complete Care/Washing instructions.
5. Blend.

6. Finishing.

4.16 Logo Patch

A logo patch will be sewn on each sleeve. The patches will be sewn 25.4 mm
below shoulder seam. A copy of the logo patch is included in Attachment A.
The patch background will be dark brown and stitching color will be specified
by Industrial Security. A smaller logo patch with the same background and
stitching color will be sewn to the left pocket and will be centered under the
pocket flap. The manufacturer shall supply a sample of the patch to the Buyer
for approval.

4.17 Permanent Creases

Shirts to have five (5) permanent military creases, which are to be applied via a
pneumatically controlled application of silicon sealant, so as to give permanency
to the creases for the life of the garment. One crease in each front extending
from hem to joining seam. Three (3) vertical creases in back; middle crease on
center back line; side back creases spaced equally from center crease.

5 Pressing and Packing

Shirts shall be carefully pressed by hand in first class manner. Shirts shall be packed
four to a box with sizes marked on the outside of the box at one end.

7 Inspection

Inspection of Shirts will be performed by the Buyer's representative per Saudi Aramco
Inspection Requirements Form 175, attached to the Purchase Order. This inspection
will verify that all requirements of this Specification are met.

Revision Summary
24 August 2009 Revised the "Next Planned Update". Reaffirmed the contents of the document, and reissued
with no other changes.
