Christmas panic buying

With only three months until the busiest time of the year,
pressure within retail is rising rapidly, with more stress on the
market than ever before.
This year shoppers are being urged to purchase early to get
the items they want.

However many others think that “panic buying” is wrong and

will just cause more problems down the line, since covid19
hit the numbers have sky rocketed with sales growing by up
to 50%. Furthermore the centre for retail research said
“parents don’t want to take chances on products not being
available near to Christmas, so some are buying now”
Our reporter Daisy Grace has visited Henley town centre to
investigate

Panic buying can also be very dangerous for retail workers

and customers as crowds can spiral out of control if safety
measures are not in place.
Another big concern for Christmas this year is the shortage
on turkeys and there not being enough to go around, this is
due to a steep decrease in demand for turkeys as farmers
may struggle to produce enough to meet the request of
shoppers, this is caused by an increase in labour costs in
other industries.

Climate change:
In 2020 prince William launched the earth-shot prize with the
support of individuals and organisations dedicated to help
climate change. It is designed to help repair our planet over
the next 10 years.
Each year there will be 5, one million-pound prizes to the
people who create the best ways to help the environment.

This has been inspired by JFK’s Moon-shot which was

organised to put man on the moon.

The prize is centred around 5 earth shots, ambitious goals for

our planet that if achieved by 2030 will improve life for us
and generations to come.
 Coldplay Renewable

Recently Coldplay have announced a new world tour.

The band have pledged to cut c02 emission by 50% compared
to their last tour and use almost all renewable energy to
power the show.

To do this a kinetic floor will be installed so that as the fans

dance to their music the energy will be harnessed
At the same time 60 of the fans will be riding on stationary
bikes to also conduct this energy
