Newton’s Laws Escape Room Key

Section 1:
● The pictures will need to be rearranged into the correct order. The clues will tell the
students where to look to find the codes.
● The students will see that there are 4 numbers. Once the pictures have been rearranged
properly, the code will be as follows. 2480
Section 2:
● Section two will dig into Newton’s history.
● Each question will ask students about Newton’s Life. The answers have letters at the
end.
● Those letters will need to be unscrambled to give the unlocking word.
○ Contributions
■ Calculus
■ Laws of Motion
■ Refraction of Light
■ Refracting Telescope
○ Newton did the majority of his work during;
■ Quarantine
○ Newton was ___ when he invented a new form of math,
■ 23 yrs old
○ Newton died___
■ 1727
○ True/False: Newton Never got married
■ True
● All of the letters at the end will give the students the key when rearranged. “Where it all
started’ refers to his birth place.. ENGLAND
Section 3:
● This section will focus on common definitions.
● Each definition has a number.
● When the correct definitions are selected. Those numbers will read the following,
48371562
Section 4:
● The next section will deal with a conceptual look at Newton's laws. Each correct answer
will have numbers, variables, or functions.
● When the correct answers as selected, those numbers and variables will read the
following; 24 = 6x
● The final questions ask for X, thus x is equal to 4
Section 5:
● This section will focus on basic newton’s 2nd law problems.
● The following are the correct answers
○ m = 50/0.5 = 100
○ F =4*2= 8
○ m = 12/2 = 6
○ a = 80/40 = 2
● Final key is the answers. It says if the key is a single digit, to only use that digit.
100-8-6-2

Section 6:
● This is an in depth conceptual question about Newton’s 3rd Law
○ The moon rock needs to be pushed.. Kicking the large moon rock could cask the
astronaut to fly back and harm themselves.
Section 8:
● This is a question about Newton’s 3rd law
○ 500 N is the correct answer. Every action has an opposite but equal reaction.

Sections 7 & 9 are wrong sections. Means the students must accurately correct sections 6 & 8
to proceed.

Section 10: This section deals with advanced newton’s 2nd law problems.
● Q1
○ First they must find acceleration. a = F /m ⇒ F /3
○ Next, the 1 kg block must be isolated to find Tension T = 1(a) = F /3
● Q2
○ The acceleration can be found with the following, ΣF = ma ⇒ mg = (3m + m)a
○ a = g /4
● Q3
○ a = F /m ⇒ 1/12
● Q4
○ Fα a
● Final Code states that you need to take (Q1xQ2)=((Q3xQ4)mg)
○ The answers of each question will need to be inputted into the unlocking formula
g Fg mag
○ F3 x 4 = (( 12
1
xa)mg) ⇒ 12 = 12 ⇒ F=MA
