Preliminaries/Introduction

 This module is designed to equip you with essential Knowledge, Skills, and
Attitude required in preparing appetizers and sandwiches, It also helps you in
performing the tasks on preparing salad and dressing and sandwiches which
will lead you to acquire National Certificate Level II. This module will provide
you to identify tools and equipment needed in the preparation of salad and
dressings, sandwiches, and dessert, as well as the different components and
factors to consider in salad preparation and sandwiches...
 Reminders: It is sincerely hoped that you will be working on the exercises in
modules by yourself. Parent/guardians and other family members are
discouraged from answering the exercises.

Pre assessment

Let us determine what you already know about Preparing salad and
sandwiches by answering pages 6-7 of your Cookery Module.
PROCEDURES

1. Initial Activity/Discovery
On page 7 of your module, identify the different tools used in preparing salad.
Write the letter of your best answer on your answer sheet.

2. Discussion of the Topic


On pages 8-13 of your module, read and understand the topic Tools, Utensils, and
Equipment Needed in Preparing Salads.

3. Enrichment Activities
To solidify your understanding of the lesson, identify the pictures On page 14 of
your Cookery module, as to what type of salad it is then give their characteristics.
Write your answer on the answer sheet.

4. Generalization
To check what you have learned about preparing salad and dressing, complete
the statement on page 15 of your Cookery module. Choose your answer in the word pool and

5. Application
Choose and prepare a green salad with appropriate salad dressing. Your output
will be graded using the rubrics found on pages 15-16 of your Cookery module.

This part will evaluate your level of mastery in achieving the learning competency.
Read and answer carefully the assessment on pages 16-17. Write the letter of the
answer on your answer sheet.

Answer sheets and assigned outputs will be accomplished completely and placed in the envelope
to be submitted by the parent/guardians to the teacher on the scheduled day and time as
