This IBDP French B is a two-year course that aims to further develop your ability to communicate, read,
discuss and write a wide range of texts and ideas in French. You’ll expand your intercultural
understanding by incorporating the texts, spoken materials, music, films, and other media to explore the
values, beliefs and perspectives of people from different Francophone cultural backgrounds.You’ll see
that the principles of learning a language: taking risks, exploring boundaries, pushing through fear and
doubt, learning from mistakes, and developing mastery will apply to many contexts of life.

French 3
French 3 is a course for intermediate students of French. You'll be prepared to enter successfully into IB level classes
in the following year. The main focus of the course is developing language skills and expanding cultural
understanding. You'll be exposed to a range of written and spoken materials which include conversations, music,
films, digital media, a wide variety of texts and other authentic resources related to Francophone cultures. You’ll see
that the principles of learning a language: taking risks, exploring boundaries, pushing through fear and doubt,
learning from mistakes, and developing mastery will apply to many contexts of life.

French 1
French 1 is a non-native course for beginners or students with a very basic understanding of the
language. All essential language skills are taught in this course, i.e. reading, writing, speaking
and listening. The course being a stepping stone to a higher level, grammar, vocabulary, and
spelling are essential parts of the program. Building up a foundation is an important target in
French 1.
