ACTIVITIES TO FOSTER LISTENING COMPREHENSION AND


INTERACTION

ACTIVITY 1:

Course: 5º Primary Education

Description:

- Warm-up  At first, the students will be asked a serie of questions about what
they know about the topic of free time activities, such as: Do you play any
sport?, how often do you practice it?, which activities do you do in your free
time?,…
- Pre-listening  On the digital Board, we will show them many activities that
can be carried out in their free time and we will discuss it because many of them
will appear in the listening that we will hear below.

1- The listening will be Heard the first time without taking notes.
2- Then, we will listen it again and write down on a piece of paper the activities
that appear.
3- We will listen it one last time and carry out the corresponding activities.
- While-listening  I have chosen a YouTube video to carry out the activity that
deals with free time activities, so the students must listen it carefully. The link

- Follow up  The students must take notes on the hobbies of Mike, Erika and
David and write them in the following table:

Then, they have to answer the following questions:

1. How long has Mike been skateboarding?


2. Why does Mike like go camping?
3. Does Erika like watch TV?
4. What club has Erika joined?

- Feedback  When correcting this activities, the students will have to Exchange
their activities and compair their answer with that of their classmate.

ACTIVITY 2:

Course: 4º Primary Education

Description:

- Warm-up  At first, students will be asked to tell us questions that they


usually ask when they meet someone. To do this, the students will get together
and discuss the topic.

- Pre-listening  Before listening to the recording, the students should ge tinto a


group and answer the following questions:
1. What is your name?
2. What is your surname?
3. How do you spell it?
4. What class are you in?
5. How old are you?

In this way, we are preparing them for the listening by giving them clues about what
will appear in it.

- While-listening  the listening is a recording of the British Council website


and the topic is to ask and give information about themselves. The link is:

- Follow-up  The activities will be carried out to select the correct option, such
as:

c. Moor

Finally, we will carry out a role-play in which we will divide the students into pairs and
one will be the interviewer and the other the interviewee.

- Feedback  This activity will be corrected by the teacher and it will be


assessed.

ACTIVITY 3:

Course: 1º Primary Education

Description:

- Warm-up  In this activity we will ask the students questions to find out their
interests and what they know about the subject. Some of these questions will be:
1. What is your favorite animal?

2. How many pets do you have?


- Pre-listening  Before listening to the YouTube video, we will read with the
students a story about animals, which is titled: cat and mouse. Meet the animals!
In which we will learn about animals in a fun way.
- While-listening  At this time, it will be when we listen to the youtube video

- Follow-up  Then, we will carry out some activities to see if they have
understood listening. The students, in a table, must write the name of the
animals that appear in the listening and draw them below, as can be seen in the

Course: 2º Primary Education

Description:

- Warm-up  The listening will deal with different foods, so we can ask the
students a series of questions:
1. What is your favorite food?
2. What about your drink?
3. What is your least favorite food?
- Pre-listening  Before doing the main activity, the students will listen to a
song about food in which they use the expressions that we will see in the

- While-listening  The students will have to listen to an audio in which two
girls and different foods appear, and they say what they like and what they don't,
using the question: Do you like -? We found this listening on the liveworksheet
website.
- Follow-up  The activities to be carried out will be to write yes or no
depending on whether the girl in the audio likes food or not.
- Feedback  the teacher will be in charge of supervising, directing and
correcting these activities.

ACTIVITIES TO FOSTER READING COMPREHENSION

ACTIVITY 1:

Course: 5º Primary Education

Description:

- Warm-up  We will begin the activities by asking them a series of questions to


motivate them and tell us about their interests, as reading is going to be about a
diary, the following questions can be asked:
1. Do you have a diary?
2. Do you write every day on it?
3. Why do you think it is important to keep a diary?
4. What kinds of things do you write in the diary?

- Pre-reading  The diary that we are going to read next is about a girl who goes
on vacation with her family and writes about the sports she practices each day.
Therefore, we will show the students a serie of images on the digital board
which they will have to describe and will help them when it comes to reading.

- While-reading  Students will have to read the text aloud and then we will
underline the words they do not understand, which will be explained by the
teacher.
- Follow-up  After reading the text, the students will make, in groups, a
powerpoint, in which they collect the most important aspects of the text. Then,
they will have to expose it to the rest of their classmates
- Feedback  On this occasion, it will be the students who assess the work of
their classmates, the teacher being only supervisor of the students' work.

ACTIVITY 2:

Course: 6º Primary Education

Description:

- Warm-up School book week is approaching and for this we have designed a
serie of activities to do with our students. First, we will ask you a serie of
questions to check their previous knowledge as well as their motivations and
interests:
1. Do you like reading?
2. Do you prefer reading on paper or online?
3. What is your favourite book?
4. Do you know when is the World Book day?
- Pre-reading  The students will go to the school library with the teacher and
will choose a book that they want adapted to their level and will have to read it
throughout the week. In addition, we will listen to a song related to the day of

- While-reading  Throughout the week, students will spend time reading their
book and taking notes
- Follow-up  Once each student has read their book, the students will have to
make a drawing about it and a short presentation for the rest of the class, which
will be taken into account for the final mark of the subject.
- Feedback  In this case, the teacher will be the one who evaluates the students'
work, which will have an important weight in the final grade.

ACTIVITY 3:

Course: 1º Primary Education

Description:

- Warm-up  This activity will try to start a conversation with someone you
don't know with expressions like: what is your name? How old are you? Nice to
meet you! Therefore, the teacher has to ask the students what questions they ask
when they meet a person.

- Pre-reading  The students will see a youtube video to later carry out the

- While-reading  The reading I have taken from a web page, which is the
following: https://www.mundoprimaria.com/juegos-educativos/juegos-de-
ingles/sara-and-david Therefore, it will be shown to them on the digital
whiteboard and they will have to read it aloud.
- Follow-up  Once read, true or false activities will be performed to see if it is
properly understood. In addition, the students will be divided into pairs and they
will have to perform a role-play in which one student is the one who asks and
the other student has to answer the questions, observing the previous model.
- Feedback  the teacher will correct the activities of the students in that class.

ACTIVITY 4:

Course: 5º Primary Education

Description:

- Warm-up  We will ask them questions to find out what they know about the
subject: Do you know what a postcard is? Have you ever sent? When?
- Pre-reading  Before going on to reading the text, in groups, they are going to
imagine that they are in another country, and we want to send a postcard to our
friends. Therefore, without writing, they should think about what they would say
to him.
- While-reading  It is time to read the text out loud for the first time and ask
about the words that are not understood or do not know their meaning.

- Follow-up  Once the text has been read, a series of questions will be asked to
check that they have understood it correctly, and finally, we will divide the
students into groups, and each group must make a postcard and we will share it
in the collaborative word document.
- Feedback  In this activity, some groups will be evaluated and the
corresponding feedback will be given.

ACTIVITIES TO IMPROVE VOCABULARY

ACTIVITY 1:

Course: 5º Primary Education

Description: The students will have to play a memory game where they will have to
match the written word with the picture or image. This can be done on the digital Board
in a way that is more fun for the students. In this case, the memory game that will be
carry out will deal with the different Jobs that we have studied.

ACTIVITY 2:

Course: 6º Primary Education

Description: one way to improve vocabulary is by reading. This is because in this


activity the students will
have to read a text about
the new technologies
that I have taken from
the internet, which will
have new vocabulary
that we will learn.

Course: 5º Primary Education

Description: In this last activity, the students will be given some potos of different
places and they have to describe them using adjectives such as: deserted, cosy, calm,
dangerous, rural, urban, tropical,…

ACTIVITIES TO IMPROVE PRONUNCIATION

ACTIVITY 1:

Course: 5º Primary Education

Description: This activity is a modification of the memory game activity designed


previously because the memory game will be played and each time a word is hit, the
teacher will say that word aloud and the students will have to repeat it and pronounce it
correctly.

ACTIVITY 2:

Course: 6º Primary Education

Description: we are studying the past simple and the regular verbs, so we have to
classify them according to their pronunciation; that is, we have to classify them into:
/t/, /d/ and /id/ sound.

For this, they will listen different words and they will have to write them in the correct
place and they say them aloud with a good pronunciation.

Course: 2º Primary Education

Description: Through a video that we will watch on YouTube, the students will review
all the phonics as well as pronounce the diverse words that appear, and they will make
the different sound and imitate them.
