Covid Through My Eyes

 On March 24, at 8pm, I along with my parents and was listening to Narendra Modi

talking to the entire nation. First time I heard – Lockdown instead of lock and key.

Markets would be closed. All transport, public as well as private, would be disallowed.

 As shops, restaurants, factories and the construction industry shut down, as the wealthy

and the middle classes enclosed themselves in gated colonies, our towns.

 Everything closed and all we hear is the police siren and security to move essential

needs of us. Parents are glued to the NEWS all the time and wouldn’t allow me to step

out even for a walk with my friends.

 Schools were closed – mom who once asked me not to touch phone or gadgets have

given the phone to attend the classes. Now technology becomes part of our life. They

said it is pandemic; a new word I learnt and understood Statements like-

“Stay Home Stay Safe,” “Social Distancing.”

 I couldn’t understand what was happening around the world and why everyone was

scared of this virus.

 Definitely, I was scared too but I turned my fears into strengths through every passing

day during this period. I joined other skill learning online classes, took part in

International online competitions and started helping my mom in the household chose.

Also, spent time with my parents and in learning to be a ‘You Tuber.’ The new trend of

social distancing, sanitizing and wearing mask has become a daily practice now. It’s

always better to be cautious than to be sorry later. Covid has taught us a new lesson to

live life with mask on!

 That’s what I observed Covid through my eyes.

THANK YOU.
