Welcome to your new business with Herbalife International!

This manual is designed to help you with all areas of your new Herbalife business from how
to get your business started, to being a reference tool that you will use throughout your
Herbalife business career. It is split into logical sections and you will find an index over the
next page for easy reference.

Bear in mind that some of the material within this workbook is not going to be relevant to
you immediately, so we would encourage you to work through this book with your Sponsor,
especially in your first few days. If you haven’t already spoken with them, then call them
now and they will go through the first few steps with you showing you in detail how to get
your new business off the ground.

How to use the Products
You are about to start our fantastic nutritional programme to help you improve your health
and energy. If you want to, you can use the products to lose weight or to gain weight. We
will be working closely with you to help you achieve the product results you want. As soon
as possible, weigh and take your measurements and record the details Your Sponsor will
show you how to record these in your ShapeWorks 30 Day Success Tracker.
All you need to do for the moment is follow the instructions on using the "Shakes"
(Formula 1), Formula 2,Personalised Protein Powder (Formula 3) and the Thermojetics
Herbal Beverage, which are in your Business Pack.

MAKING A SHAKE
Formula 1
To make a shake, start by shaking the Formula 1 container to aerate it. Tap the top of the lid before
opening and take two heaped dessertspoons per one serving of Formula One shake. Mix with 250ml
of soya milk (“Provamel” or “So Good” from the chilled cabinet are best). Do not use cow’s milk
unless you're used to drinking a pint a day, as most adults have a problem digesting the lactose in
milk. Either use a blender or Herbalife shaker. You can add fruit and yogurts to your shakes, if you
like thicker shakes (make sure the yogurt is low fat and 1 dessert spoon per serving) try out some of
our fabulous shake recipes. Follow the chart above for weight loss, weight gain or
maintaining/improving health.

Formula 3 (Personalised Protein Powder)


Use with Formula 1: Add 1-2 level dessertspoons of Protein Supplement Powder.

THE TABLETS
Formula 2: Take one tablet three times a day. After your meal, or shake, is the best time to take
this. The F2 tablets help the nutrition in the shakes to be absorbed into the body, so you can
maximise the effectiveness of your programme.
Thermojetics Instant Herbal Beverage
Take one serving in the morning, lunchtime and afternoon. This is excellent to take just before, or
during any exercise. Mix ½ - 1 level teaspoon in hot/cold water, with a touch of lime cordial, honey,
lemon juice, or blackcurrant squash. A very popular recipe is the ‘Thermo Beverage’ with a touch
of pink grapefruit squash. Thermojetics Herbal Beverage really can curb and control your appetite
so we call it "willpower in a bottle". This turns body fat back into energy and speeds up inch loss
dramatically - the more you drink, the more you shrink!

MAIN MEAL
For weight loss, your daily routine is simple – 2 shakes per day, tablets 3 times per day and your
main meal once per day. This can be either lunch OR dinner. It’s best not to drastically change your
eating habits from fish and chips to one lettuce leaf and ½ tomato, as this would be too great a
dietary change for the body. Enjoy eating what you usually eat, just reduce the size of your portion!
WATER
It is vital that you drink at least two litres of water per day. This works out to be about 7-8 glasses
per day. It flushes the system and is an important part of your programme.

How to fill in the forms in your
pack
You need to find the Application for International Distributorship in your Business Pack. This will
have your
ID number on the top right hand corner. Make sure that you record that number on page one of this
workbook.

Fill out all of the details on the top half of the form that are relevant to you (name, address, phone
no, date of birth etc). Ignore the section asking for details of the Sponsor and Supervisor. Sign the
form at the bottom, please don’t date it, and send ALL copies back to your Sponsor at their home
address. You should have a stamped addressed envelope for this purpose addressed to your Sponsor.
Please include the Herbalife addressed envelope which is also in the pack.

Success Training Seminar


We currently have 8 of these weekend training events around the UK each month. It is vital that you
attend a Success Training Seminar (STS) as soon as possible. Your Sponsor will give you details on
the next one.

Starting Your Own Business


The Herbalife business is a very simple one to get started, and your initial focus should be on
building your business. This administrative side is necessary, but shouldn’t be your main focus right
now.

It is sensible to have a business bank account to keep your finances separate. Your local bank should
have a Small Business Advisor. They can offer guidance and set you up a “Trading as” account, e.g.
John and Mary Smith trading as JAMS Health. Cheques can be made to “JAMS Health” which gives
a professional image. Also cheques made to John Smith can also be banked in this account.

The website www.businesslink.org offers good advice on getting into business, plus you can request
a free booklet. There are very good guidelines on registering as self-employed.

You don’t have to register for VAT initially. Once your turnover is over £56,000 then this is
mandatory.

As self-employed you declare your income, offsetting expenses on your annual tax form. It is
sensible to track income and expenses. Excel is very good for this. Income could be a categorised as
retail, wholesale and royalties. Typical expenses categories would be advertising, products, training,
telephone, office (stationery etc).

Business Tools
Stickers
When you have received your order, it’s important that you label every product with a sticker
containing your details. That way your customers will always have your contact information to
reorder. Stickers can be ordered from Able Label (see page 30). The gold one’s are very popular
heading Health & Wealth and your contact details.

Telephone
Some people chose to have a separate phone line for their Herbalife business. This is entirely up to
you, but it is not necessary and will, of course, incur an additional overhead.

However the following ARE necessary:-

Ansaphone Either a machine or a telephone answering service. Please note, an answering service is
preferable as this avoids callers getting an engaged tone, and they are always able to leave
messages
(e.g. BT 1571 upgraded version – call 150 for details)

Your Message Please make sure that your outgoing message is clear, happy and friendly sounding, but
business-like at the same time.

3 Way Calling Most phone service suppliers offer this service, you will need to subscribe to this ASAP as this
is an important tool

Herbalink This is a VERY important tool and you need to get your service activated as soon as possible.

Unlimited local and national calls any time of the day for a set fee - find out from your telephone service provider if
you are on the best package that they offer. Many of us who are with BT are using their BT Together Option 3

International Option for conference calls www.18866.com or www.telediscount.com or just buy a international phone
card from your local corner shop.

Also bear in mind that you are running your own business now, so you want to project the right image. To do this, you
need to prevent any children answering your phone and loud TV noises in the background.

The Herbalife House
The ideal Herbalife business looks exactly like the house illustrated on the previous page and has at
least 2,500 volume points (VP) per month turning over within it.

We build our house in 5 Major areas:

1. Personal Use
2. New Retail Customers each month
3. Repeat Customers and Referrals
4. Discounted Distributors (Wholesale)
5. Recruiting Volume

This makes for a balanced business that will create a rock stable foundation and will allow you to
have solid personal volume every single month forever, and hence make a profit.

1. Personal Use (200VP)


The most important part of any Herbalife Distributor’s business is their own product story and, of
course, product belief. This only comes with using the products yourself. Hence within this ‘House’
plan we assume that all Distributors will be using a minimum of 200VP worth of product
themselves. This means a basic nutrition programme with a selection of some of the outer nutrition
products as well. After all, it makes sense, why would you buy shampoo, skincare etc from any
other source now? It would mean putting money into someone else’s business!
2. New Retail Customers Each Month (800VP)
The average customer in this group is purchasing approx 125VP a month, sometimes a great deal
more. So you can see that to achieve this you would need only 6-8 new customers each month.
That’s less than 2 a week!
3. Repeat and Referral Customers (500VP)
If you look after your customers they will reorder each month and, of course, with our Customer
Referral Programme you should also be getting plenty of referrals from your new customers. This
means that 500VP are easily achieved with just one Repeat order or Referral each week.

4. Recruiting (500VP)
Each time that you sign a new Distributor with a £199 Business Pack they are purchasing over 75VP
worth of products. If you sign up just 5 or 6 a month you will hit this target

5. Wholesale (500VP)
Naturally your new Distributors will need some inventory themselves, so this is very easily
achievable each month.

Of course you could create this 2500VP any way that you like. You could consume 200 yourself and
then find 18 customers (whether they be new customers, or reorders or referrals) each month, and
this would make 2500VP.
