Q. Food web and food chain basic understanding.

Food Chain

A food chain explains which organism eats another organism in the environment. The food
chain is a linear sequence of organisms where nutrients and energy is transferred from one
organism to the other. This occurs when one organism consumes another organism. It
begins with producer organism, follows the chain and ends with decomposer organism. It
has four parts majorly: Sun, Producer, Consumer and Decomposer.

Food Web

Several interconnected food chains form a food web. A food web is similar to a food chain
but the food web is comparatively larger than a food chain. Occasionally, a single organism
is consumed by many predators or it consumes several other organisms. Due to this, many
trophic levels get interconnected. The food web is able to show the proper representation of
energy flow, as it displays the interactions between different organisms. This complexity in a
food web leads to a more sustainable ecosystem.

Clean Development Project India

Clean Development mechanism (CDM) is a way to reduce Green House Gases emissions (i.e. GHGs
emissions) through efficient and sound technologies. It is an opportunity not just for CDM but for long
term sustainable development of the nation. TRAI recommendations on the subject are available in their
website. The Information and Communication (ICT) sector is one of the contributors in global Green
House Gases (GHG) emission. On the basis of current projections, GHG emissions from the Telecom
sector is expected to double by 2020 inspite of innovations to accelerate energy efficiency. The diesel
generators leave large carbon footprints which may cause enormous degradation of the Environment
apart from getting the power at high cost.

Building Design & Construction

Sustainable building design and construction is the practice of creating structures and using processes
that are environmentally responsible and resource efficient throughout the life cycle of a building– from
selecting the site to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and finally, deconstruction.
Sustainable building expands on and complements the classical building design considerations of
economy, utility, durability, and comfort. Other terms for sustainable building include green building, high
performance building, or sustainable or green construction. Given the extent to which buildings affect the
environment, the opportunities for improvement through sustainable planning, design, construction, and
operations and maintenance practices are significant.
Although an organization may choose to prioritize energy reduction, water conservation, waste
minimization, or any number of individual initiatives, the practice of sustainable building is really about an
integrated approach to planning, design, construction, operations, and maintenance.
