Time Spend in Playing Sports Each Day

Abstract

The study is all about the difference in the average of time boys and girls
age 13 through 17 paly sports each day. In gathering the data different
methods will be use independent mean, single mean, chi-square and
correlation method. All these methods will answer the given problem with a
supported statement.

The respondents will be 50 student who studied in Iligan City National

High School 25 boys and 25 girls. Base on the information we gathered the
total number of hours that the boys spend on playing sports each day are 66,
and for the girls are 44 obviously the data show that boys spend more time in
playing sports each day than girls. As the solving continue the answers of the
given problem saw. It state that the relationship between gender and number of
hours in playing sports are independent and the number of hours in playing
sports between boys and girls have a strong positive linear relationship . these
study are important because as you can see the study about the gender and
number of hours of playing sports are related and playing sports is also based
of what gender you are. The purpose of this study is to differentiate the average
time of boys and girls age 13 through 17 who played sports each day.

Therefore the study about the different average of boys and girls provided
with enough evidence to state that they are related and have a strong positive
linear relationship.

Introduction

The National Alliance for Youth Sports believes that participation in

sports and activities develops important character traits and lifelong values in
children which can create a positive impact in their lives. Youth Sports
programs at your installation seek to make the sports experience for all
children safe, fun and health y [1] . According to Davis ,A(2013)sports, whether
team-based or individual, are a great activity for children that provide a variety
of benefits other than physical activity. Participation in sports can help build
self-esteem and confidence, can motivate children to excel academically and
can help build social skill s[2 ].This study aims to know the difference in the
average of time boys and girls ages 13 through 17 play sports each day. Test at
5% Level of Significance. The problem portrays the difference between time
playing sports and the specific ages of both genders. This indicates the
performance of every gender playing sports in a specific time and age. The
study is eager to determine if there are difference between the given statement
for some activities, the age of both gender male and female and the important
on the activities being participated.

Objectives

This study aims to :

1) To test that the amount of time spends by boys in playing sports is

greater than the girls.
2) To test the hypothesis that the average number of hours of boys in
playing sports is greater than 3 hours.
3) To test the hypothesis that the average number of hours of girls in
playing sports is greater than 3 hours.
4) Relationship between gender and number of hours in playing sports.
5) To test the relationship between the number of hours in playing
sports between boys and girls.

Methods
The study will be consisting of different methods in gathering the data.
The research locale will be the school of Iligan City National High School
located in General wood Street, Poblacion, Iligan City in which the respondents
will be the students of the said school. The study will be using a purposive
sampling in which the researcher relies on his or her judgment when choosing
members of population to participate in study. The instrument will be using in
this study will be independent mean, simple linear , chi-square , and
correlation method in analyzing the data. Chi-square for it’s about to calculate
the possible expenditure and correlation method to determine whether there is
a relation or not.Independent meanthat the two random variables are
independent if the realization of one does not affect the probability distribution
of the other. All these methods will provide supported statement aiming to
answer the given problem.

Therefore, there is a Strong Positive Linear Relationship means that

when the time spent in playing sports by boys increases the time of girls
also increases.

Summary

The study aims to know the difference in the average of time boys and
girls ages 13 through 17 play sport each day, the number portrays the
difference between time playing sports and the specific ages of both genders. As
we survey both male and female from grade 7 to 11 students at Iligan City
National High School many of them are interested to share something from
their number of hours playing sports each day, so we try to ask both gender
male and female that how much is their number of hours in playing sports.
Then we try to test that the amount of time spends by boys in playing sports is
greater than the girls, to test the hypothesis that the average number of hours
from both boys and girls is greater than 3 hours, relationship between gender
and number of hours playing sports which are independent, and lastly the
relationship between the number of hours in playing sports between boys and
girls are strong positive linear relationship.

Conclusion

Based on the finding the following are the results of the given problem of
this study. In the survey of the students in Iligan City National High School,
the total average hours of the boys in spending of playing sports is 66 hours
and the total of the girls is 44, therefore the average hours of boys in spend in
playing sport is greater than the girls base in the survey but the results of the
solving is we are not provided with enough evidence to state that the amount of
time spend by boys in playing sports is greater than the girls.

Recommendation

In the view of the findings and conclusions of the study, the following

recommendations were drawn:

 To the Parents
That they may allow their children to involve in sports activities for a
better understanding. That they may provide background information about
sports activities to their children.
 To the Members
That they may provide the financial support and convinced to involve in
sports activities as a way of a healthy life style.
 To the Future Researchers
That they may conduct future researchers related to sports. They may
come up with more information about the sports and activities and how do the
people interact with each other in the said sports they joined.
