The main dimensions of the structure are derived directly from the hydraulic
and static calculations – mostly verifying the assumed sizes

 some dimensions are assumed on the basis of building practice and cannot be
verified by calculations.
HYDRAULIC STRUCTURES - Excercise 4

The main dimensions of the structure are derived directly from the hydraulic
and static calculations – mostly verifying the assumed sizes

For the design of the structure it is necessary to perform:

Hydraulic calculations of the structure
Hydraulic calculations of the foundation
Stability calculations for buildings
Calculations of the building strength
Determination of certain dimensions of buildings on the basis of experience gained
in practice
