Expanded list below the quick list

Let’s get started:

Quick list

Number Short Description

1 The party comes across a family of [Early game Normal type pokemon], peaceful
as long as the party keeps their distance.

2 The party encounters a fleeing and heavily injured wild [pack mon] pokemon.
Examination of the wounds reveals them to be recent.

3 A Pokemon Ranger mistakes one of the party’s pokemon for a rampaging wild
and attempts to capture it.

4 A migrating flock of Pidgey and Pidgeotto have stopped to eat, unfortunately their
appetite is larger than the supply of food.

5 The Party meets another group of trainers with the exact same team as them.
Freaky!

6 The Party is ensnared by a brigand using pokemon as a lure!

7 A flock of Starly and/or Staravia is flying overhead. Are they hostile, if so, can you
scare them away or is running the only option?

8 While walking peacefully in the wild, one of the adventurers’ feet gets stuck in a
burrow. An angry [Raticate, Furret or other] defends its home and any children
living there.

9 You see a couple of Teddiursa playing. Where is mother Ursaring?

10 While resting in a forest, part of your pack gets stolen by Zigzagoons.

11 A child comes asking if the party has seen its missing pokémon.

12 A small troop of Pawniard led by a Bisharp have begun defending a small

oceanside town, but lately they have become overzealous and are attacking
anyone who tries to enter.
13 The party encounters a large group of what seems to be an extremely rare
Pokemon… but they’re all actually Ditto. Well, all but one...

14 A pair of barely competent [insert evil team here] members becomes obsessed
with a seemingly innocuous Pokemon in the party. Expect them to appear every
few sessions to be an annoyance. A talking Pokemon mascot is optional.

15 A [swimming pokemon of some sort] has gotten washed up on the beach and is
struggling to get back into the water. However, the group out in the ocean doesn’t
seem to care about their stranded member

16 The party comes across the skeleton of a (rare-ish Pokemon). They seem to be
picked clean recently, though they haven’t seen anything else around lately...

17 The party finds themselves in the middle of a turf war between a large group of
Seviper and Zangoose.

18 The Party’s Tech is disrupted by a Porygon (1/2/Z). This causes Pokedexes to

give false readings, Pokeballs to potentially malfunction and PC transfers to
perhaps be mixed up between party members.

19 The party chances into a large group of [insert evil team here] grunts all on an
outing catching wild [cliche grunt pokemon] en masse.

20 A small group of ghost pokemon are tormenting local townspeople under with the
usage of invisibility and cruel pranks.

21 The Party happens upon a nest of unusual appearing pokemon eggs. With the
parents not far away and ready and willing to defend their unhatched young.

22 The party comes to a lake or beach town, where an annual fishing contest is
being held.

23 Trainers happen upon a slumbering Snorlax who has just devoured all the berries
in the clearing. Whenever they near the monster, a faint melody can be heard,
putting them to sleep. Underneath the behemoth is a Jigglypuff. Surrounding the
monster are a horde of slumbering Slakoth.

24. It is a normal day save for the sound of a thousand hooves and a dust cloud in
the distance. A vast herd of Bouffalant is stampeding towards the party. What will
they do?
25 In a remote temple Mienfoo and Mienshao train with Throh and Sawk to master
martial arts. When the party arrives, they find the temple in shambles and the
holy bell stolen, who could have done free this? Why a mighty Emboar

26 In a city the power seems to be going out, looks like something is drawing away
the power, while Electabuzz are apparently coming into the town in great
numbers. Could the two be connected?

27 Flood! A group of Ludicolo have summoned a storm, with the rain having
nowhere to go. The team must stop them before the region is flooded. Still the
question of why they are doing this arises...

28 You are walking through a cave and come across a line of wobbuffet, two wide,
back to back. How will the party get across? If you have a trainer who is able to
talk to the pokemon, their motive is that they discovered the ultimate way to hide
their tails, and they are very self conscious about them.

29 Turf war! A cave divided by rocks and blood. On one side of the cave, the tribe of
Swinub. (The swinub evolutionary line.) VS Sneasel (The Sneasel evolutionary line.) Each have
legitimate reasons to own the cave land. The Swinubs claim that it is their ancient land, the
Sneasel claim that they found the cave empty, and the Swinub returned and waged war. The
Swinub were there first, the Sneasel found the land fair and square. Which side will your party
help if at all? (Do note that this is more interesting if they are at a standoff, and are currently not
fighting. Giving members of your party the opportunity to talk to each side. Let them try and
make the impossible decision. If they start asking questions I don’t cover make it seem like both
sides are neither right or wrong.)

30 The players stumble across the den of a mother Pangoro and her children. The
Panda Pokemon are guarding a rather large stack of berries, but perhaps they
could get them to share; if they don’t upset the mother, that is.

31 Upon entering a cave, the players hear the distinct sound of music playing. Do
they decide to investigate this?

32 Wild pokemon have gone berserk! With strength and numbers on their side, they
present a serious problem to the surroundings. The only certain solution is a
strike directly into the pokemons’ nests. It’s time for a bug hunt!

33 A travelling chef is known for his unique recipe, but he’s missing one vital
ingredient. Are you a bad enough dude to save cooking as we know it?

34 You are entering/exiting a town and see two kids fighting over a pokéball. Both
saying that they own the pokémon inside. Do you help settle the conflict, maybe
take the ball for yourselves so that none of them gets it.

35 The party runs into a tribal shaman that's channeling the local pokemon,
including those of the party! Friends turn against each other in confusion.

36 A traveling salesman wanders by and offers a steep discount on some wonderful

tech! Only problem is, something has claimed it as his own beforehand. Buyer
beware?

37 The party gets attacked by a lone man with a shovel while traveling in forest or
grassland. The man apologizes, and explains that lately, some thieves have been
trying to kidnap his herd of Miltanks. He makes the party dinner to apologize, and
explains the situation his farm is facing while he and his Mr. Mime do the dishes
after. He offers the party a place to stay for a few days if they try to keep a watch
at night to catch the thieves. The thieves are eventually discovered not to be
human, but are instead the Machop line, stealing Miltanks for their milk, in order
to appease their master, a hyper-powerful Snubbull.

38 You are walking to the next town. On your way you meet a whole lot of
emigrants. They are bringing all that they can carry and are talking about
“destruction” and “Arceus damned disasters”.

39 The party comes across a bunch of friendly Pokemon, but the weather soon turns
dangerous and everyone must survive the storm!

40 A group of evil-doers are holding a pokemon hostage! You have to fight your way
through them to rescue it!

Num of Pokemon: Two 2nd stage pokemon (Parents) and 1d6+1 1st stage pokemon (Children)
Pokemon level(s): Parents 30, Children 10
Starting Disposition: Neutral (Party stays back), Hostile (Party gets close)
Expanded Description: The party is traveling along the road, when they spot a group of
pokemon (Varies depending on region, Kanto: Raticate and Rattata, Johto: Furret and Sentret,
Hoenn: Linoone and Zigzagoon, Sinnoh: Bibarel and Bidoof and Unova Watchog and Patrat. If
you are using a homebrew region, use your region’s equivalent.), a little further up the road. As
the party gets closer, the parents notice the party and make it very clear that they should stay
back (Channelers are close enough to channel the parents, no check needed). If they do not,
the parents attack, if the party flees the parents do not pursue.
Possible Resolutions (Not an exhaustive list):
Party Stays back: Nothing occurs.
Party defeats/captures the parent(s): The children are immediately set to a Fearful disposition
and scatter. Captured parents start at loyalty 1 (The Mentor’s “First Impressions” ability will not
increase this)
Party attacks/defeats/captures children: The parents immediately attack the party and will keep
following the party till they are dead or their captured child(ren) is released.
Channeler conveys peaceful intentions: The parents relax and allow the party closer. If the party
demonstrates its strength in a non hostile way before they depart, one of the children may
become impressed and ask to join them (Starting loyalty 3).

Encounter Number: 2
Encounter type: Pokemon
Num of NPCs: N/A
NPC level(s): N/A
Num of Pokemon: One injured 1st/2nd/3rd stage pokemon (Injured Pokemon), 2d6+4 1st/2nd
stage pokemon (Pack), one 1st/2nd/3rd stage pokemon (Pack leader)
Pokemon level(s): Injured pokemon: Min level to reach final stage (Min 25), Pack Leader: five
levels higher than Injured pokemon (Min 30), Pack: half the level of Pack Leader
Starting Disposition: Fearful (Injured pokemon), Hostile (Pack and Pack leader)
Expanded Description: As the party travels along the road, they encounter a heavily injured
pokemon (Select any pokemon with the Pack Mon capability) dragging itself along and
collapses near the party (It starts with 10% of it’s max HP and 8 injuries). Examination of the
wounds by even the untrained will tell you that they were caused very recently. If the party
decides to stop and help the injured pokemon, the Pack surrounds the party after a few minutes,
preventing escape, and the Pack Leader then approaches. The Pack Leader stares at the party
for a few seconds and then makes its way towards the Injured Pokemon.
Possible Resolutions (Not an exhaustive list):
The party lets the Pack Leader attack the Injured Pokemon: The Pack Leader kills the Injured
Pokemon and then leaves with the Pack.
The party intervenes: The Pack Leader attacks. Defeating or capturing the Pack Leader causes
the Pack to obey the Injured Pokemon, who all depart.
Encounter Number: 3
Encounter type: Pokemon/Social
Num of NPCs: 1
NPC level(s): 5
Num of Pokemon: 1
Pokemon level(s): 40
Starting Disposition: Hostile
Expanded Description: In the last town the party visited, they hear about a rampaging
pokemon that is the same species as one of the pokemon belonging to one of the party. After
they set up camp for the night, an inexperienced pokemon ranger stumbles across them and
mistakes the party member’s pokemon for the rampaging one and attempts to capture it. After
the scuffle is resolved, the Ranger asks for the party’s help in stopping this rampaging pokemon,
which is not far off. If the party decides to help, the Ranger takes them across a swathe of
destroyed land, where they see the rampaging pokemon (This pokemon is an average
specimen, except that it possess the move Rage and the ability White Flame. Neither take up a
slot. The pokemon starts battle Enraged). It sees the party and attacks.
Possible Resolutions (Not an exhaustive list):
The party declines to help the Ranger: After a while, they hear about a Ranger that died trying
to take on a powerful and rampaging pokemon.
The party weakens the rampaging pokemon: The Ranger manages to use their Capture Styler
and take the rampaging pokemon with them. Before departing, the Ranger gives them a token
that they can trade in for a reward at a ranger base.
The party decides to capture and train the pokemon: The Ranger allows them to do so. If they
succeed, the Ranger radios back to base that the pokemon has been captured by a trainer. If
they fail, use the above resolution.
The party kills the rampaging pokemon: The Ranger is disheartened that they were not able to
bring the pokemon in, but is glad that it’s no longer rampaging and gives them a reward token.

Starting Disposition: Hostile
Expanded Description: A ravenous horde of Pidgey and Pidgeotto have decided to avail
themselves of the party as food. While not individually strong, the group has made a killing due
to sheer numbers - which are increasing. You see, the only reason the flock is doing this is to
feed a huge nest of Pidgey some distance away; Channelers can quickly figure this out and, if
desired, help the flock in its mission, and maybe take a few eggs home with him...
Possible Resolutions (Not an exhaustive list):
The party defeats the flock. The last Pidgey/Pidgeotto to die lets out a bone-chilling squawk ;
some time later, a flock of fletchling Pidgeys (Levels 1-5) comes running down the road near
the party, making some sort of mass migration of unknown length...
The party calms the flock. The party is led to the nest, where they can care for the hatchlings or
call in assistance for.
The party provides food for the flock willingly. In exchange for their service, each player is given
a Pidgey egg;each of these Pidgey knows an Egg Move.

they’ll leave you and attacks someone conscious. When all in the party has fainted or run away,
the birds fly away.

2: You walk away the way you came, nothing happens.
3: You walk away in a different direction. Roll a D6, at a roll of 1 you encounter the Ursaring. You

players decide to investigate this source they encounter a very tall trainer with an afro coloured
and shaped the same as a Basic Ball turned on its side. The trainer will introduce himself as
Miror B, and will issue a challenge to any one of the trainers present.
Possible Resolutions (Not an exhaustive list): Its a league official trainer battle, so resolve as
you would any other trainer battle. If the trainers don’t decide to investigate the music, then this

Num of Pokemon: 1

and alone and nursed it to full health. The kid who nursed the pokémon to full health (let’s call
him Joe) saw his friend, the pokémon, get caught when coming back from school/dinner. The
catcher (let’s call her Jane) got a pokéball as a birthday gift from her poor parents. They couldn’t
afford a pokémon. She hurried out and caught the first wild pokémon she saw.
Pokémon species is the GM’s choice.
Possible Resolutions (Not an exhaustive list): A) Ignore them. Nothing happens.
B) Help Joe. Jane gets upset and cries, getting the attention of everybody in the vicinity. The
gathering mob gets angry with you.
C) Help Jane. Joe gets upset and runs into the wild. If you do not pursue, he will utter a gut
wrenching scream of true heart ache. His screech attracts ravenous pokémon, making it a race
whether you will save him or if he’ll be eaten.
D) Let the pokémon decide. See B)!
E) Steal the ball, saying “if you can’t get along, no one will have it”. They are left speechless. If
you hurry away, you will not get into trouble. Should you linger, you get caught by an angry mob.

Encounter Number: 38
Encounter type: Social, possible pokémon
Num of NPCs: A towns worth of people
NPC level(s): N/A, you may add some trainers if you like
Num of Pokemon: 1
Pokemon level(s): 20-30
Starting Disposition: Neutral
Expanded Description: If you ask the townsfolk they’ll tell you about a sighting of an Absol.
Absols are bringers of destruction. Most of the inhabitants have gathered as much as they can
and left for all neighbouring settlements, be they cities or villages. A few have stayed behind,
either to witness or they refuse to believe that such a small pokémon can do something terrible.
After a quick look around, the disaster happens. The disaster is not caused by Absol, but by
former tame pokémon. If it’s a coastal town, a Gyarados can come with a tsunami. If it’s in the
mountains or some other dry place, a Tyranitar whips up a major sandstorm. A charizard might
be doing a fly-by, spouting fire everywhere. A pack of dog pokémon escaped from a big kennel,
got rabid and are destroying everything in their path. A psychic pokémon is teleporting around in
it’s sleep, sharing it’s nightmare with everyone around and using telekinetics to defend itself
from the nightmare. Point is, you can’t capture the pokémon doing the destroying and it does
not stay around for a fight (unless you want it to).
Possible Resolutions (Not an exhaustive list): If the party went out in search of Absol, they’ll
find it on a hill outside the town. It wants to be wild, but does not fear humans. An attempt to
catch it makes it want to fight or run.
The destruction can’t be stopped, but you can stay around and help minimize the damage and
maybe salvage some stuff. The salvageable stuff is dependant of the disaster, fire is not the
same as water. Sand isn’t really destroying much, just mechanical things. Electrike and
Manectric can destroy technology, Growlithe can burn all flammables, and they’ll eat any
foodstuff. Things left behind are often too big to bring or too insignificant to matter.
