II. In five sentences, enumerate some environmental issues and challenges and what could
we do about it.

Global warming is the main issue that we are facing and it is directly connected to all
catastrophic events that we are experiencing. We must start using natural methods especially in terms
of transportation to lessen greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, production of man-made materials
is still ongoing and our resources are always on the frontline. It is obvious that this primarily leads to loss
of biodiversity, deforestation and soil erosion. We must restore our forests by planting more trees and
reminding everyone that everything we use today comes from nature which requires moderation and
conservation.
III. In RA 10121M what are the FOUR major programs and its definitions

1. Disaster Prevention and Mitigation


- Handled by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
- Reduction of severity or harmful impacts of the human or resources damage caused by any
disaster.
- Avoid hazards and mitigate potential impacts by reducing vulnerabilities and exposure;
enhancing capacities of communities.
2. Disaster Preparedness
- Handled by the Department of Interior and Local Government.
- Taking measures in preparation to reducing effects of disaster.
- Establish and strengthen capacities of communities to anticipate, cope and recover from the
negative impacts of emergency occurrences and disasters.
3. Disaster Response
- Handled by the Department of Social Welfare and Development
- To provide immediate assistance to maintain life, improve health and support the morale of
the affected population.
- Provide the preservation and meet the basic subsistence needs of affected population based
on acceptable standards during or immediately after a disaster.
4. Rehabilitation and Recovery
- Handled by the National Economic and Development Authority.
- Restore and improve facilities, livelihood, and living conditions and organizational
capabilities of affected communities; reduce disaster risk in accordance with the "building
back better" principle.

IV. In two sentences, kindly describe in what do you understand with Community Organizing

Community organizing empowers people in addressing concerns and putting organized


plans into action. A key factor to make community organizing effective is to have all the qualities
and characteristics of being a leader.
