Productivity Reflection

An organization’s success and efficiency start with its employees and workers.
Not on how many workers an organization has, but in the efficiency and quality of the
output given by the said workers. Efficiency connotes the productivity of the workers.
But as said in the article, there are different factors that affect the productivity of an
organization and ways on how to improve an organization’s productivity.
1. The first one is improving personal competencies. In the given article, under the
said factor, there are three components. The first one is self-awareness. Being
aware to one’s self is important because it helps in knowing one’s self’s
personality and attitude towards work and others. Second is the competency to
manage personal stress. In working in an organization, one must have presence
of mind, and be able to focus on the said task. A person must separate his/her
personal problems to work problems as it can affect one’s productivity and
efficiency as an employee. Mind setting is a way to manage stress. Stress, we all
know is inevitable, and it is everywhere. But in order to be productive, one should
know how to organize hi/her thoughts and be able to sort things out to avoid
affecting the output of an organization. Lastly is the competency to solve
problems analytically and creatively. An organization can experience problems
on a daily basis. Managers should be able to solve these problems effectively
and creatively and being able to innovate among his/her coworkers.
2. Another factor that can affect productivity is improving interpersonal
competencies. After dealing personal competencies, it is now the time to have a
strong relationship with others. Building a positive relationship with others will
increase a person’s will to work well and be motivated to do good. As for the
managers, they should also build and have a good relationship with their
workers. In addition to that, they should also be able to influence their coworkers
and give out the best in them in order to end up a better output. A manager,
before he/she command and assess others, as said in the first item, must assess
him/herself first. He should be a model to his/her coworkers in order to gain
respect and good relationship with the rest of the organization.
3. An organization cannot succeed without empowered employees. An empowering
manager should learn how to be competent and should have critical skill. A
manager who empower people makes his/her workers work freely, reduce
controls and constraints. An organization should be a place where its workers
can be comfortably working and not being forced to work that can cause outputs
to be reduced in quality and lower productivity rate. Finally, after achieving the
preceding items, an organization should have effective teams that works
efficiently and can collaborate well with the said members of the team. This
shows how the productivity of managers and workers are. Productivity is
