They expect that their child grows and develop a good understanding in every aspect of life and has the
ability to be a good leader someday and create a step to finish his goals. His parents give him time and
attention in studies and at home also bonding when weekend.
Cognitive Development
In paragraph form, describe the cognitive development of the leaner. Combine the
teacher's, parents responses, and your own observations.

He likes to dance whenever there is an activity or events in the school, he is good in different tasks such
as always attend class, do all of the homework and assigned reading, develop self-discipline and manage
the time given. He has difficulty in english subject that’s why the teachers and parents give him the best
solution for him. Teacher uses rubrics for the transparency and to know the grades and achievement of
each student he/she handle, the instructor always give students tips on how they can do better in the
class and always motivate them by giving gifts when the student got higher grades it is a technique for
students to follow their teacher. Parents in their home have also rules to their child that they need to
study even without in school so they can read all the lessons and memorize the notes in their notebook.

Findings

Write here your salient findings about the learner.

The learner gets lazy when the teacher is not effective in teaching it tends to students unwillingness to
listen. The learner do the task quick when there are reward given after they finish it.

Conclusions

Write your conclusions after you have analyzed the impact of the school and the

home on the learner's development. The questions in the Your Analysis portion of this

learning Episode can help you.

I therefore conclude that the impact of school and home of learner’s development are exceptional in
students progress it is their way to grow because of the techniques and never ending support that comes
from teachers and parents.

Recommendations

Write your recommendations.

I highly recommend that the teacher should posses good quality teaching so that the attention of the
students doesn’t turned to others also to parents they need to guide their child in their studies to prevent
the struggles and problems that students might encounter, the early they learn the faster they can cope up
to the lesson. Parents should also give students learning materials that are appropriate to their lessons in
school so learner have an advanced learning and background that they can apply in school.

ANALYZE
Your findings and recommendations in the Leamer Development Profile will help you answer the
questions here.
1. From your home visit and interview, what do you think is the style of parenting experienced by the
learner? Explain your answer.

I noticed that they have a lot of learning materials like posters in different sides of the house and the
parent said that she teach his son to read all the informations like the skeletal system, planets, history of
the world, animals chain, water cycle and many more the parent teaches his son when weekends, and I
ask him some questions that is related to the posters and he answered it correctly and I believe that they
guide his son well and feeds everything to him.

2. Relating your data with what you learned from child development, what family factors do you think
contribute to the development and over-all adjustment of the learner in school.

I think it was the posters that they put in their house for the child to practice his mental development as
well as his ability to understand the life and be ready for school. The guidance that the family gave to
the child and it is good that at a childs young age he knows everything before he go to school, it is an
advantage for him because he has a background and he can apply it inside and out of the school.

3.Does the communication between the home-school have an effect on the learner? If yes, what are these
effects?

Yes, it is possible to learn even at home but there are also disadvantages in students way of learning,
first is that there are lots of distraction inside the house that might distract the child when he/she do his
studies. The second factor is that although it is effective there are times that they will be lazy and will
not listen to the teachers lesson and pretend that they listen even they’re not.

4. How can the teacher partner with the community to contribute to the development and learning of the
students ? Who are the people or which institutions can the teacher tap to seek advice regarding these
development and learning of students

They can seek advice to the mayor of the community and the bargy also because they are the ones who
has a complete control in the community and they can use their connections and fund to provide what
the community needs as well as the learners need.
REFLECT

1. Reflect on your own development as a child. What type of parenting did you experience? How did it
affect you?

My childhood was awesome my mother always thought me as a child that knowledge is a thing that will
never steal by anyone from you so she always take good care of my education she teach me everything I
need to learn. Almost every morning after I take a bath she prepared my learning materials and start her
teaching, I learn a lot from tracing letters to spelling and reading. When the time comes that I need to go
to school and study its not that hard for me to answer my teachers question because it is familiar to me.
She is a wonderful mom that I had.

2. As a future teacher, how would you establish good home-school collaboration? How can you work
well with the parents? How can you help them? How can they help you?

For me I will start with a meeting and ask them if they are capable of attending online classes or willing
to participate in virtual classes and if they have internet connection so that I can think a solution without
any conflict to students learning. After I gather all their responses and if they have everything that they
need to attend online classes then its good but if some students don’t have gadgets to participate then I
guess I will provide hand outs to help them lessen their worries and a good part of it is they can follow
the lesson given and for the parents I will explain all the information they need to know to avoid
misunderstandings so it’s a win win situation for both of students parents and me.

Instructional Strategies for Teaching Pre-Algebra

to a Diverse Group of Learners

Planning effective instruction for a classroom full of learners demands that the

educator know what works and more importantly what works better for the group of

people residing in the educator's classroom today. This action research study tested the

efficacy of using the full compliment of assessments included in the curriculum

adoption at the researchers school and that of guided note taking. Each strategy was

implemented in its own separate unit of a pre-algebra class.

The researcher used student growth, which was determined by the difference

observed between a student's pre-test percentage score and their final unit test

percentage score, as the metric by which to evaluate each strategies efficacy.

Measurable growth was observed with both strategies. The All Assessments strategy

showed greater and more consistent growth among learners than that which was

observed during the Notes strategy. These findings indicate that more research is

needed on the effectiveness of using assessments for learning and a need for further

study to evaluate the efficacy of guided note taking. Findings in this study should be

considered as illuminating but not conclusive as the sample used is not generalizable.

ANALYZE
Your findings and recommendations in the Learner Development Profile will help you answer the
questions here.

1. From your home visit and interview, what do you think is the style of parenting experienced by the
learner? Explain your answer.

The learners house has full of knowledge because of the posters and learning materials so I can say that
the parenting style was great for the childs fast learning. The mother also said that they practice their
child to read and have a questioning portion after the child is done.

2. Relating your data with what you learned from child development, what family factors do you think
contribute to the development and over-all adjustment of the learner in school?

Parental participation improves academic performance while also having a positive impact on student
attitude and behavior. A child’s attitude toward school, classroom conduct, self-esteem, absenteeism,
and motivation can all be influenced by a parent’s involvement and encouragement in their child’s
education.

3. Does the communication between the home-school have an effect on the lamer if yes, what are these
effects?

The learner is affected by communication between home and school. This is because, because the kid
does not attend school every hour of the day, this sort of communication is used to reinforce and
continue what is learned at home or at school. Teachers who communicate with parents on a regular
basis are able to detect learning requirements, learning gaps, and ways to bridge them more
permanently. Both parties can keep track of the students’ progress and swap notes as a result of this. The
more parents are involved, the easier it is for the student to cope and deal with issues at school. Parents
can modify their parenting style to fit their child’s study skills requirements. The child’s
accomplishments can be shared. Parental availability creates a good attitude toward learning, which
leads to enhanced accomplishment or exam scores, increased homework completion, and even better
attendance.
REFLECT
1. Reflect on your own development as a child, What type of parenting did you experience? How did it
affect you?

From the time I was a child till now, I’ve seen that the parenting style I’ve had is an authoritarian one.
My parents are always in charge, and rules are enforced. But even if this style of parenting isn’t feasible,
I’m confident that I’ll be able to manage my time because I inherited my grandmother’s positive
attitude, which makes them happy at my age. I don’t even go out with my friends because I’m frightened
of the negative influences that could lead to me descending, and as my parents constantly say,
“temptations are always there around you, so be careful in what you do.” Her words blessed me, and this
has an impact on my academics in the sense that, rather than spending time with others, I choose to work
on my projects and participate in school events.

2. As a future teacher, how would you establish good home-school collaboration? How can you work
well with the parents? How can you help them? How can they help you?

If I were a teacher, I would be able to establish good home-school collaboration by observing the
behavior of the students in my class and being responsible enough in their attitude. For example, if there
is a problem that causes a conflict or problems in my class, I would call the parents of that student and
let them know how their child performed in my class. Through this, we might conclude that there is a
link between home and school.
