REFLECTION ON HOW IT WAS USED IN DEVELOPING ACTIVITY SHEET AND

MODULE FOR GRADE 7 STUDENTS

Before the school year 2020-2021 began, SDO Navotas started various training and
webinars to equipped teachers for the new normal education. One of the early training I attended
is the Learn, Share and Develop: Designing and Developing Learning Resources: Bridging
School and Home. The Curriculum Implementation Division of Navotas through the Learning
Resource Management Section conducted the learning series from May 29, 2020, to June 3,
2020.
The objective is to ensure learning continuity as part of the Department of Education’s
Learning Continuity Plan. Since our division will be implementing the blended learning
modality, they seek the availability of competency aligned materials like task sheets, activity
sheets, and modules. Also, the program aims to augment the already available learning materials
in the LR Portal. Most of these learning materials were made for face-to-face classes. The
webinar is parallel to another program of our division office which is the Project ASSIST-
Activity Sheets Development in Support to Instructions for Students and Teachers.
The webinar offers practical information, guides, and techniques that I was able to use in
writing a module for the 4th quarter for Grade 7 and an activity sheet for Project Assist. In the
webinar, we learned how to craft and develop learning materials using the BLR standards. On
the second day, the topic was about Designing Engaging Modules. It was my first time
developing an actual module and the knowledge I gained from the learning series came in handy.
They also taught us the basics of lay-outing, the principles, and practices. They also
discussed the basics of copyright management, where I learned about different licenses and how
to acquire one. They also provided us with links to images, materials, and illustrations, and other
digital materials.
The whole learning experience is helpful for participants like me. It helped me in
developing activity sheets and modules aligned to curriculum competencies per grade level. We
were able to produce intervention and instructional materials for flexible learning. We also
applied the learnings in creating video lessons, lesson exercises, and lesson plans.
