1. Find the values of all the six trigonometric functions for an angle  made by a ray starting at the origin
and passing through the point  5,12  .

2. From the figure, find the value of cos 𝜃 , sin 𝜃 and tan 𝜃.
3. A ray starting at the origin, makes an angle  made and passes through the
8
point (𝑥, −3). If the value of tan 𝜃 = 15 , then find the values of 𝑥, sin 𝜃 and
cos 𝜃.
3
4. If for an angle 𝜃, the value of cos 𝜃 = − , then find the values of sin 𝜃 and
5
tan 𝜃.

Trigonometric Functions of (−𝜽)

sin(−𝜃) = −sin 𝜃 cosec(−𝜃) = −cosec 𝜃
cos(−𝜃) = cos 𝜃 sec(−𝜃) = sec 𝜃
tan(−𝜃) = −tan 𝜃 cot(−𝜃) = −cot 𝜃

Angles of the form (𝒏 × 𝟑𝟔𝟎° ± 𝜽) have same trigonometric ratio as ±𝜽

sin(360° ± 𝜃) = ± sin 𝜃 sin  360°     sin      sin  sin  360°     sin 
cos(360° ± 𝜃) = cos 𝜃 cos  360°     cos     cos cos  360°     cos

5. Find the value of cos(300°) − sin(−30°)

6. Find the value of tan(330°) + cot(−60°) + tan(−300°)

7. Find the value of cos(−420°) + sin(750°) + tan(−675°)

Trigonometric Functions of (𝟏𝟖𝟎° ± 𝜽)

sin(180° ± 𝜃) = ∓ sin 𝜃 sin(180° − 𝜃) = sin 𝜃 sin(180° + 𝜃) = −sin 𝜃
cos(180° ± 𝜃) = −cos 𝜃 cos(180° − 𝜃) = −cos 𝜃 cos(180° + 𝜃) = −cos 𝜃
tan(180° ± 𝜃) = ∓ tan 𝜃 tan(180° − 𝜃) = − tan 𝜃 tan(180° + 𝜃) = tan 𝜃

8. Find the value of cos(120°) + sin(−210°) + tan(225°)

9. Find the value of cos(570°) sin(510°) − sin(330°) cos(390°)

Trigonometric Functions of (𝟗𝟎° ± 𝜽)

sin(90° ± 𝜃) = cos 𝜃 sin(90° − 𝜃) = cos 𝜃 sin(90° + 𝜃) = cos 𝜃
cos(90° ± 𝜃) = ∓sin 𝜃 cos(90° − 𝜃) = sin 𝜃 cos(90° + 𝜃) = −sin 𝜃
tan(90° ± 𝜃) = ∓ cot 𝜃 tan(90° − 𝜃) = cot 𝜃 tan(90° + 𝜃) = −cot 𝜃

Note: For multiples of 180o and 360o, the functions retain the same form, whereas for odd multiples of
90o or 270o, the trigonometric function flips into its complementary function.

10. Express cos  99° in terms of any trigonometric ratio of an angle between 0° and 45°

11. Express cot 250° in terms of any trigonometric ratio of an angle between 0° and 45°

12. Find the value of cos(90° + 30°) + sin(270° − 60°) + tan(450° + 45°)

13. Evaluate: sin(280°) sec(190°)
