Right Maintenance and Inspection Methods

Learning how to maintain rightly your machine. According to
instructions of this manual. If your machine has troubles, you must
maintain or contact your franchiser before the operation.

Check the machine before you start the engine everyday

1. Check the gauges.
2. Check the coolant, fuel and oil levels.
3. Check the leakage of oil and water, and check the damage of hoses and
steel pipes.
4. Check walk around the machine for general electrophoresis, sound and
heat etc.
5. Check the loose or the lost parts.

Check the service hour meter

The service hour meter decides when your machine needs to
maintain scheduled.
The time in table of maintenance bases general operation. If you operate
in severe conditions, you must apply your machine short time maintenance.

Maintain machine on schedule.

Put all the maintenance methods on maintenance checklist commended
into practice.

Prompt of maintenance
1. Use the fuel and lubricant commended.
2. Don’t adjust the engine fuel control and safety valve.
3. Protect electric element in order to avoid the water and vapor.
4. Can not decompose electric assemble such as sensor etc.
5. Use the true LIUGONG parts commended.

Prepare before Maintain Machine

Parking the machine as follow before maintenance, unless needs
otherwise parking mode.

1. Parking the machine on level ground.
2. Lower the bucket to the ground.
3. Keep the engine running with low idle speed for 3 minutes.
4. Turn the key in the starter to the “OFF” position and pull out the key.
(If the machine needs to maintain on the engine running condition,
there must be people on the machine.)
5. Put the gate lock lever to the “OFF” position.
6. Attach a “DO NOT OPERATE” tag on the right control lever when the
machine no works.

Attachment
Parking the machine in the condition of arm cylinder and bucket cylinder
full extend, lower bucket to ground, namely the condition for carry.
The centralized lubrication system is adopted in order to expediently
refill lube.
Boom pin——every 50 hours (every 8 hours in first 100 hours)

Swing bearing——every 500 hours

NOTICE: Lubricate swing bearing and upper structure must be only
one man to do. Before you start the machine ，clean up all
the men all around.

 Every time you leave cab ， must lower the bucket to the
ground ， stop engine, and put the gate lock lever to the
“OFF” position.

1. Parking the machine on the level ground.

2. Lower the bucket to the ground.
3. Reduce the engine speed to low idle speed.
4. Turn the key in the starter to the “OFF” position to stop engine, pull out
the key.
5. Put the gate lock lever to the “OFF” position.
6. Refill lube to the lube cup when the upper structure at rest condition.
7. Start engine. Lift the bucket away ground about 0.5 meter and rotate
upper structure 45 (1/8 revolution).
8. Lower bucket to the ground.
9. Repeat the above three times from the third step.
10. Refill lube to the swing bearing until lube leakage from the bearing
sealed place.
11. The weights of lube for refilling about 0.5 kg.
12. Advent can not refill overmuch lube.

Swing gear—Every 500 hours

NOTICE: Lubricate swing bearing and upper structure must be only
one man to do. Before you start the machine ，clean up all
the people around.
Every times you leave cab ， must lower the bucket to the
ground ， stop engine, and put the gate lock lever to the
“OFF” position.
1. Parking the machine on the level ground.
2. Lower the bucket to the ground.
3. Reduce the engine speed to low idle speed.
4. Turn the key in the starter to the “OFF” position to stop engine, pull out
the key.

5. Put the gate lock lever to the “OFF” position.
6. Open and remove the box cover on upper structure.

7. Check the lube on the inner gears, lube must properly on the surface of
gears. If need, refill about 0.5 kg lube.
8. Fit on the cover.
9. If finds any water and mud in the lube replace all the lube on the gears.
Remove the cover near the turn joint from Turntable gear room
bottom, needs to apply about total 4kg lube.

Commendatory engine lubricant：

API CD class or upper class；
General area： SAE30 or the same class（summer and winter）
High temperature area： SAE40 or the same class
Low temperature area： SAE10W or the same class.

Commendatory fuel
High quality diesel oil (ASTM 2-D)，can not use kerosene.

Engine lubrication level inspection

Replace engine lubrication (refer to engine consumer manual).
NOTICE: Engine lubrication might very hot. You notice assure
yourself do not be scalded by hot oil.

Drain water and infectant from fuel tank ——everyday

1. In order to facility be approach，rotate frame 90 parking the machine
on the ground.
2. Lower the bucket to ground.
3. Reduce the engine speed to low idle speed.
4. Turn the key in the starter to the “OFF” position to stop engine, pull out
the key.
5. Put the gate lock lever to the “OFF” position.
6. Turn loose the plug a few seconds in order to let water and sediment,
notice cannot turn the plug full out.
7. Tighten the plug and inspect it whether or not pressurize, if it is not
pressurize, continue tighten until it is pressurize.
NOTE: Plug installed in fuel tank bottom.

Check fuel crude filter

Refer to engine consumer manual.

Replace fuel filter

Refer to engine consumer manual.

Clean fuel feeding pump filter

Refer to engine consumer manual.
IMPORTANCE: Give out the air of fuel system air (refer to engine
consumer manual).

Clean outer filtrate part of the air filter——every 250 hours

Replace outer and inner filtrate parts of the air filter——after

cleaned six times or one year
1. Parking the machine on the level
ground.
2. Lower the bucket to the ground.
3. Reduce the engine speed to low
idle speed.
4. Turn the key in the starter to the
“OFF” position to stop engine, and

 pull out the key.
5. Put the gate lock lever to the “OFF” position.
6. Loosen the clamp and open the end cover.
7. Move out the outer filtrate part.
8. Use your wrist tap the outer part , and do not tap on the crude filter
surface tap.
NOTICE: Reduce compress air stress. Clean away around lookers-on,
prevent flying patch, and draw-on individual protective
implement, including goggles or safety glasses.
9. Use the compress air clean outer
filtrate part. Guide the
compressed air in the filtrate parts
inside and blow outward.
10. Mount the outer filtrate part.
11. Mount the end cover and tighten
clamp.
12. When replace air filter filtrate
parts must replace the outer part
and inner part together. After
remove the outer filtrate part,
remove slowly the inner filtrate
part. Before mount the new
filtrate parts, clean the inner of air
filter. First mount the inner filtrate
part, and then mount the outer
filtrate part.

Check coolant level——everyday

NOTICE: Can not loosen the
radiator infuse cover,
unless the engine already
cooling. Loosen slowly
the cover to the bottom,
and release all stress
before removed the
cover.
When the engine cooling, the water in
radiator must be full.

Check and adjust the belts tension
Refer to engine consumer manual.
IMPORTANCE: Flabby fan drive belts will cause storage battery
charge up unwell, engine heat up and the belts wear
and tear rapidly and unwonted. But if the belts are
too tight will damage the bearing and belts.

Replace coolant and clean the radiator inner ——every 2000

hours or every year
NOTICE: Before the machine was transported away from manufacture
factory, the cooling system has been poured water and anti-
freeze which can prevent frostbite at -28℃ low
temperature(Shell).If use cooling water which does not
adding antifreeze, that every 500 hours replace coolant.
WARNING: Can not loosen the radiator cover, unless the engine was
already cooling. Loosen slowly the cover to the bottom,
and release all stress before removed the cover.
1. Remove the radiator cap, loosen the drain valves on the engine and
radiator and drain the coolant completely.
2. Close the drain valves, and fill the radiator with tap water, run the
engine at speed of 1200rpm. When the pointer of temperature gauge
speed reach the white area, run the engine continue for about 10
minutes.
3. Stop the engine and loosen the drain valves on the radiator. Flush the
cooling system with tap water until the water drained was limpidity. It
can remove rust and sediment.
4. Close the radiator drain valve. Fill the tap water and antirust or
antifreeze to the radiator with prescriptive mix scale.
5. When fill the coolant, it must be slowly filled coolant and prevent the
air mix into the system.
6. When filling the coolant finished, run the engine a few minutes. Inspect
the water level again, if need, refill coolant.
Antirust
When replace the coolant, apply about 0.58 liter （ 0.15 America
gallon） antirust to the coolant.
When the coolant use the antifreeze, need not apply antirust.
Antifreeze
If the temperature is forecasted drop to 0℃（32F）or lower. Fill the

mixture with antifreeze and soft water to the cooling system. If the
antifreeze you bought has the mix ratio explanation, please mix the
antifreeze according to the local lowest temperature. The following list the
SHELL and MOBIL antifreeze relation between temperature and mix ratio,
for reference.

NOTICE: Antifreeze is poisonous, if do not carefully, it will cause
injury or dead. If the antifreeze spray into the eyes by
chance, washing the eyes with the water about 10 ～ 15
minutes, and actualize urgency medical treatment. If the
antifreeze is drank in by accident, channel off to spew, and
immediately do urgency medical treatment.

Cleaning the outer of radiator——every 500 hours

NOTICE: When use the compressed air for cleaning, reduce the
compressed air stress. Clean away around lookers-on,
prevent flying patch, and draw-on individual protective
implement, including goggles or safety glasses.
1. Open the accessorial door of the radiator and cover.
2. Use compressed air or water clean or wash the radiator and oil cooler.
