My work
My main goal with this portfolio is both showing, to myself and to others, what I have
learned during this course, what I’m capable of and how I see photography. I have
never tried doing photography, or know nothing about it, so this portfolio was a chal-
lenge for me. When I started creating it, the photo report was what I was more excited
for, as I could actually choose a personal topic with complete freedom. The rest of the
excercises, for me, where kind of a preparation, showing pure skills of photographs I
can take. But it is with the final part with what I really could show my aim and my goal
with this work. And, as with other things in life, you leave the best for the end.

Process
The process wasn’t that long, but it surely was intense. I decided to start doing my
work during Easter. Starting, as I said before, with the final excercise, which I had
planned since our teacher told us about this work. It took me a lot of days, metting
with different friends, in my house, in their house, in our neighborhood, never far
away, both because of convenience and because my work didn’t need beautiful sets.
On monday april 29 I had all my photos finished, and I started editing them, with the
help of a friend, who knows how to use photoshop better than me, and who with I
learned a lot of techniques.

Equipment
I took this photographs with a DSLR camera, the Canon 7D mark II, with three types of
lenses: 18-55mm, 10-18mm and 50mm, with variable f number. I also used two led
spotlights, with whie cold light and diffuser.

Photo report
Since the beginning of the course I knew one thing for sure: even if pho-
tography is supposed to be beautiful for most people, for me it’s the
message that counts. I wanted to use my abilities to send a message, a
strong one, about a topic we are all familiar about, and that has changed
our generation: social media.

As I said in my moodboard, I am not against the use of social media,

overall, it is really benefitial. But I want to promote a safe use of it, and
show, through my photographies, the limits some people cross in order
to get likes, and what people hide behind all those pretty selfies and
pictures.

Maybe my photographies are not the most beautiful or aesthetically

pleasing, but my goal is to change the way people see social media.
People will hide their true feelings and fears behind the selflove hashtag, promoting
in social media something they don’t even feel, to get the approval of the rest
Begging for followers, craving for likes, and, like touching a cactus,
doing harmful things to fulfill their blind needs.
The details always matter
People will fake their musical taste, will fake liking certain music or artist in oder to feel part of a
community, to get recognition. But, at the end, their fake musical taste ends up strangling them
We have many ways of expressing ourselves through social media. Pictures, likes, messages, emojis....
However, many end up being unable to express themselves, and faking their true feelings by using apparently happy messages.
Like a sick person who needs medicine,
Can you can cure your feelings thanks to likes and comments?
Selling your dignity in order to get approval
I wish I was there!
Have a great time at the beach!
Omg she is so lucky to be there
To get followers you just have to pretend having the pefect life,
so other people whose lifes are not even close to perfect, can feel
happy wathing you fake everything
Sometimes, we need to stop looking for likes in social media,
and truly start to like ourselves a little more.
Because at the end, all that matters is what we think,
not what other think, about us.
Finally I will include the photograph
