TO WHOMSOEVER IT MAY CONCERN

                  I am writing this letter in utmost enthusiastic support of Lalith Darshan, in his pursuit
of higher educational qualification in your concerned University. I have known him for the past
three and half years. He did his project under my guidance and been my student when I
handled him “Strength of Materials II”. During that time I developed a very high regard for
Lalith, based on the outstanding contributions that he made and found him to be an aspiring
and sincere student.
                Added to this, he worked on his final year project (Performance of pre-cast beam
column by joint construction under cyclic loading), under my guidance and as his project
adviser, I have observed and monitored him at close quarters. Lalith has exhibited a rare
combination of speed and accuracy that has enabled him to produce a very high volume of
work while maintaining very high standards for quality. I have always witnessed him to be
passionate and dedicated to everything that he does. Being the project coordinator for Lalith, I
have seen his growth in communicative abilities tremendously. His attentive listening and great
enthusiasm has helped him overcome any language limitations.
              He has an inquisitive mind and good interpretation abilities that will greatly facilitate
research work at your university. An intelligent and hardworking student, Lalith has a natural
inclination for research. He has the ability to voice his ideas clearly, which greatly enhances his
expressiveness in solving doubts when approached by fellow students. His extreme interest,
persistent attitude and intellectual curiosity drive him to get deeply involved in his work and
excel in it. At a personal level, Lalith is a well-disciplined, industrious, multitasking student with
a pleasant personality.
            Lalith has outstanding organizational skills. He is able to successfully complete various
tasks with favorable results despite deadline pressure. He played a major role in organizing
“Civilsation”, a national level technical symposium and an international conference conducted
by the Department of Civil Engineering and various guest lectures also and he has been the best
volunteer. Lalith has always displayed a high degree of integrity, responsibility, and dedication.
He is definitely a leader. He has a great sense of humor that has helped him form strong
relationships peers, and members of our staff.
              On top of it it all, he is a pleasure to be around and a focused and determined young
man. I know from discussion with colleagues in my department that we all think Lalith is a very
special student in terms of his interests in extra-curricular activities yet never compromising on
his academics. In fact, I can think of few whom I would recommend as highly. I am very
confident that he will be an asset to your university as a graduate student. I strongly
recommend him for graduate studies in your university with full financial support.
