RESOLUTION NO. 2 013 —501

PRESCRIBING THE QUALIFICATION STANDARDS FOR APPOINTMENT TO PNP RANKS

WIILHE AS, Section 14 of Republic Act No. 6975, as amended, provides that the National
Pt lice €/fiinmission (NA POLCOM) shall exercise administrative control and operational
siq envision over the Philippine Ndñollal Police (PNP);

fiesolntion No. 201-196, entitled, “Prescribing the Qualification Standards for Appointment to
1'N1° links” which was confirmed by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) through Resolution
No. llfJ 14"/9;

WH Ll'EAS, it should be recalletl that there were provisions under the dispositive portion
‹ I NAI'OI-€\OM Resolution No. 2011-196 which were excluded in the CSC Resolution
No. 11-01479 thar approved the said NAPOLCOM issuance;

WIIfiRIi AS, there is a need to amend the qualifications standards prescribed therein in
or‹ler to reconcile the said issuances and to immediately address the prevailing vacuum in
olticersliip brought about by the lack of qualified officers as a result of the increase in the
Lxperience/I ime-in-Grade requirement as provided for under NAPOLCOM Resolution
No. 21)11 -19a;

NOW, THE REi'ORE, the Commission in the exercise of its constitutional mandate to
administer and control the PNP, HAS RESOI.VED TO PRESCRIBE, AS IT HEREBY PRESCRIBES,

appropriate for ranks requiring lower
eligibilities.
