Lack of Knowledge in Mental Health

Mental health, many people do not understand mental health,.What is mental health?.
What if mentally unhealthy including mentally ill people?. What causes mental health not to be
healthy?. How to Prevent Mental Health Disorders?.

Pieper and uden (2006) say that mental health is a condition in which a person feels no
guilt toward himself, has a realistic estimate of himself and can accept his weaknesses and
weaknesses, the ability to deal with the problems of his life, has satisfaction in his social life and
has happiness in his life.

Mental health disorders occur when a chemical balance in the brain is upset. As a result,
there are disruptions in the way of thinking, acting, and feeling, and the way of viewing things in
life, mental health disorder is actually a common condition. Just as a physical ailment, mental
health needs to be overcome, so it does not interfere with the quality of life.

Factors that affect mental health and cause mental disorders are divided into three, which
is:

 Biology factors: genetics, chemistry in the brain, disorders in the brain


 Life factors: trauma, harassment, poison, alcohol, drugs
 Family factors: family history, family problems

Stress is a cause that is often associated with a person with a mental disorder. Here are
some steps you can take to cope with stress:

 Engage in regular physical activity


 Healthful eating
 Avoid unwholesome habits
 Meditation
 Having someone close to you
 Doing yoga
 Have enough sleep

Studies have also proved the effect of mental health on a person's physical health, and
vice versa. The study proved that in depressed patients the risk of having a heart attack is more
than twice as high, while treating symptoms of depression after a heart attack has been shown to
lower mortality rates in patients. Keeping mental health is essential. With good mental health, a
person becomes aware of his own abilities, can cope with the normal pressures of life, and can
work productively.
Mental health is an essential component to form social relationships, maintain productivity,
balance daily life, and balance relationships with the environment. If the individual is mentally
healthy, the individual will be able to continue to develop and contribute as a society.
Unfortunately, many people are still unfamiliar with mental health issues such as stress
management and various types of mental disorders and how to handle them.

Mental health is a condition when the human mind and character are in a normal, peaceful, and
calm state, so that they can carry out activities and enjoy daily life.
