5.6 Data processing

Since network data transfer, optical magnetic disk archiving, hard disk data
deletion, etc. are performed in parallel, if the delete image operation is
performed after the network transfer request is formulated, delete image
processing may have priority. Therefore, it is recommended that all datasets
be stored on the day the dataset is acquired and that deletion processing is
done first when the system is used the next day.

5.6.2 Erasing data from hard drive

After scanning, immediately carry out the necessary processing (printing the
data, storing data to the storage medium such as magnetic-optical disk, etc.)
and then discarding the scanned data. If the scanned data should not be
deleted immediately because image processing etc. will be performed, it is
recommended that the data
are protected.
- Refer
to subsection 5.6.2 "Data protection (file
protection)" on p. 5-61 of this manual.

NOTE: If scanned data is not regularly deleted. If the free area on the system's
hard disk gradually becomes smaller, scanning becomes impossible.

Before deleting files, be sure to confirm that all background task

processing has been completed. If an image file for which background
task processing is dropped, background task processing may not
complete normally. Background job processing items include image
copying and printing on film.

5.8.1 Region of interest (ROI)

When an ROI (region of interest) is adjusted on the displayed image, the area, mean
TC number, standard deviation, maximum TC number, and minimum TC number in
the ROI can be calculated.

(1) Type of ROI

The ROI types that can be adjusted are Linear ROI (straight line), Rectangular
ROI, Circular ROI, Ellipse ROI, Line ROI, Polygonal ROI, Free ROI, and Angular
ROI.

(2) ROI information

When an ROI is adjusted during image processing, statistical calculations

start automatically. Calculation results are displayed in the Statistics
window. Items of displayed information differ depending on the type of
ROI as shown in the table below. For statistical calculation display, refer to
