Announcements from the AHS Guidance Office for the week of August 30, 2021

Attention all students: The last day to make a change or phase change to
your current first semester schedule is Wednesday, September 8. Please use
the online schedule change form on the Guidance website. The last day to
submit a completed and signed Independent Study Form, Course Audit
or a Pass/Fail form is also Wednesday, September 8. Forms are
available in the guidance office. No late forms will be accepted.

Attention students currently taking College Credit Plus courses on the


college campus: If you have not already submitted your college course
schedule, please drop off a paper copy or email one to your School
Counselor as soon as possible. Your high school schedule will not reflect
necessary changes without the student submitting a copy of his/her
schedule. Thank you.

Virtual College Fair


Virtual visit with Emory University, Johns Hopkins University, University
of Notre Dame, Washington U in St. Louis
These four universities are offering general student information sessions.
Student must register to participate.

Multi-Cultural Visit Program


Oberlin College is offering an all-expenses paid trip opportunity this fall. Oberlin
encourages applications from students from diverse backgrounds such as American
Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African-American, Hispanic/Latino(a), Native
Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander. We will also consider low-income and/or first-generation
college students, regardless of cultural or racial background.

MVP will be offered twice this fall: October 28-30 and November 4-6. Applications

AHS College Visits (ZOOM)

Attention juniors and seniors: A representative from Middlebury College


will be available to meet with you via Zoom during AC on September 22
during AC, first and second lunches.

To do this you must do the following:

SCHOLARSHIPS
Heisman High School Scholarship Opportunity

Attention Senior Athletes: The High School Heisman program is now accepting


applications. Student-athletes must have participated in one of the 47 recognized sports
and have an overall “B” average or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.  The selection committee
wants applications from both male and female student athletes who exhibit excellence in
the classroom, on the playing field and within their communities. Students who have
participated in volunteer service, community involvement or leadership within his/her
school or community are encouraged to apply. Application deadline is October 19; go to
