3 SCOPE OF WORK
This Method Statement is to outline the work methodology for compound stone topping carried out in
Limbang Town 275/33/11kV Substation. The aim of this method statement is to ensure that all the
activities within the site boundary are carried out in accordance with specification and smoothly.

The procedures developed herein however, do not in any way supersede the procedures as specified
in the Contract drawings and specification. Any revised procedure shall be approved by Employer prior
to actual work on site.

3.3 PREPARATORY WORKS

1) Source for crushed stone for compound stone topping material and carry out testing for the
material by third party on the suitability of material.
2) All relevant underground cabling works shall be completed before laying of gravel topping

3.4 WORK METHODOLOGY

GROUND PREPARATION

1) The ground shall be prepared and compacted to level as per IFC drawing prior to lay compound
stone topping.
2) All compaction shall be carried out with 0.5t plate compactor. Once the formation base has been
prepared, it is closed to all construction traffic.

COMPOUND STONE TOPPING

1) Lime stone gravel with 16mm to 40mm size shall be used as compound stone topping material.
The material shall be sent for quality testing before used.
2) The level of compound stone topping shall be joint surveyed by client and approved by QAQC
engineer.
3) Survey and setting out pegging for ground level and gravel topping level shall be done by qualified
surveyor and properly marked.
4) 200mm thick compound stone topping to be lay by excavator according to the designed level.
5) If there is any case excavation works to be carried out at the completed area, canvas shall be used
within the area to prevent the soil debris/dirt contaminate the gravel.
