10G interfaces
Wavence does offer full non-blocking 10 Gb/sec capabilities.

• CorEvo-10G card, provides 2 x 10 Gb/s SFP+ interfaces and embeds a

100Gb/s traffic switching matrix.
• Ethernet Access card (EAC-10G) providing one additional 10G port per cards.
• MSS-8 10G shelf can offer a total of 6x10 G ports (2 embedded in the corEvo
and 1x4 EAC-10G cards) for a total user traffic of 60 Gbit/sec.
• MSS4-10G can offer a total of 4x10G ports (2 embedded in the corEvo and
1x2 EAC-10G cards) for a total user traffic of 40 Gbit/sec.
• UBT-S, UBT-T and UBT-m support 1x10G port each

8 © 2018 Nokia
Ethernet features
• The LAN interface supports jumbo frames up to 9280 bytes.
• Level-2 addressing, flow control , VLAN management, Quality of service,
Packet throughput booster,……etc.

Multichannel
Modern methods combine two or more microwave channels to create a higher
capacity virtual link.

Carrier aggregation
The capability to aggregate multiple carriers in different frequency bands over
the same link.

9 © 2018 Nokia
Carrier SDN
Next generation networks require an advanced service management with a
strong flexibility to support new services and optimize costs.
NSP (Network Services Platform) is the Nokia solution for carrier-grade SDN
deployment introducing service automation and network optimization
capabilities all over the Nokia transport portfolio.

Layer3 VPN
Wavence supports Layer3 VPN (Virtual Private Network) for Carrier SDN services.
User provides the configurations for the service and its network end-points
(VLAN and IP addresses) and the service deployment is automated by NSP.

External couplers

A coupler is used to connect two UBT-T with AIM-T-C to an integrated antenna

(single polarization). It allows a 4+0 configuration.
Two versions are available: an equal-split 3 dB/3 dB coupler recommended for
the above configuration, and an unequal-split coupler with nominal
1 dB/10 dB insertion losses on main/standby paths.

Both types of couplers can also be used with UBT-S.

35 © 2018 Nokia
External Ortho-Mode Transducer
Using one Ortho-Mode Transducer (OMT) and two UBT-m, it is possible to have
a double polarization configuration with an integrated antenna. The frequencies
can be different (in a same band) or identical (XPIC).

36 © 2018 Nokia
UBT power and data exchange
The DC power port (PWR) and Ports 1 to 4 are connected through special connectors called OCTIS.

The OCTIS connector concept is a common housing and blocking mechanism hosting internally a
connector suitable for different applications.

Different colors of the gland nut have been decided for facilitating the connector identification.

37 © 2018 Nokia
OCTIS Connector DC: 2 versions are proposed, one standard version and a high-
end version suitable for specific deployments like Power substations or Railways.
DC connectors can be identified through their orange color.

-OCTIS Electrical (RJ 45) connector – plugged into Port 1 of UBT

Electrical connectors can be identified through their black color

-OCTIS Optical SFP connector – plugged into port 2 or 3

Optical connectors can be identified through their blue color

What is WebCT?
• WebCT is a new user interface starting with 9500 MPR 6.0
• Requires only Web Browser
- No Java, No software installed on customers computer
• Requires CorEvo-1G or CorEvo-10G
- Wavence R18 adds support of the WebCT in the MSS-1
