Congratulations! We are pleased to confirm your employment with Woolworths Group Limited (ACN 000 014 675)
working in the Woolworths Supermarkets business (we or us) on the terms and conditions set out in this letter.
Our purpose is to "Create Better Experiences Together for a Better Tomorrow". We do this through our Agile Ways of
Working and Core Values. We look forward to your contribution to us living our Purpose.
1. Your position
You will be employed on a casual basis in the position of Store Team Member, or any other
position required by us from time to time. As a casual team member, we can elect to offer you work as
required according to our operational needs, and you can elect whether to accept or reject work. This
offer of casual employment is made on the basis that we make no firm advance commitment to you of
ongoing, continuing and indefinite work according to an agreed pattern of work. You agree that you accept
our offer on that basis.
If your position, duties, work location and/or remuneration changes for any reason, then the terms of this letter will
continue to apply to your employment, unless agreed otherwise by you and us in writing.
For the purposes of clause 7.3 of the Enterprise Agreement, you agree that the minimum rest period between
the completion of work on one day and the commencement of work on the next day is reduced to 10 hours.01
In addition to your remuneration, we will make superannuation contributions that at least satisfy the minimum
amount that we must contribute to avoid being liable for a charge under applicable superannuation guarantee
legislation or the amount set out in the Enterprise Agreement, as applicable.
We will deduct tax, agreed and authorised deductions, and any other amounts from all payments to you, as
required or permitted by law.
6. Minimum entitlements
In accordance with the Enterprise Agreement, your remuneration includes a casual loading of 25.00% of the base
rate of pay for your classification under the Enterprise Agreement. Your remuneration under this letter and the
Enterprise Agreement is paid in compensation for all work performed and is paid in satisfaction of all entitlements
(including, but not limited to, in relation to ordinary time payments, overtime payments, allowances, public holidays,
leave loading, paid and unpaid leave including annual leave, personal/carer's leave, compassionate leave,
community service leave (but not long service leave) and public holidays not worked, and any other payment or
benefit including pay in lieu of notice of termination and redundancy pay) that you may have now or in the future
under legislation (including the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and its successors) and/or industrial instrument (including
the Enterprise Agreement and its successors) (collectively, "industrial laws").
Your remuneration in a pay period is first in payment of these entitlements under industrial laws for the pay period
and may be applied against, or set off against, any or all such entitlements. Next, any remuneration paid to you for
any pay period, or otherwise, which is in excess of your entitlements under any industrial laws, is in satisfaction of
any entitlement for any other pay period, or otherwise, in the same calendar year in relation to which your
remuneration may be less than your entitlements under any industrial laws. The excess amount may be applied
against, or set off against, any or all such entitlements.
Any entitlement under an industrial law is to be calculated by reference to the applicable rate of pay contained in
the industrial law.
7. Your leave
As a casual team member, you are not entitled to paid annual leave, paid personal/carer's leave, paid
compassionate leave or paid community service leave, with the exception of long service leave if applicable. Your
remuneration includes a casual loading which is paid in compensation for this leave.
However, you may be entitled to some forms of unpaid leave, such as unpaid carer's leave and unpaid
compassionate leave, in accordance with the Enterprise Agreement and applicable laws.
8. Conditions of employment
This offer, and your employment, is conditional on your eligibility to work in Australia including obtaining and
maintaining any necessary work visas, and your ongoing compliance with any work visa conditions. You consent
to us conducting a Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) check with the relevant government department
and to the results of any checks being provided to us. You must provide all required information and documents
so that this check can be conducted. If you fail or cease to meet any of the above requirements at any time, we
may withdraw this offer or terminate your employment immediately.
9. Our expectations
During your employment, you agree to:
- perform work for or on behalf of Woolworths or any Woolworths business, as required by us;
- inform yourself of and comply with all relevant Woolworths policies (including our Code of Conduct),
directions and applicable laws. We may add, vary or rescind policies from time to time. Policies do not form
part of this letter and do not give rise to contractual obligations on us. Any failure by us to comply with them
is not a breach of this letter;
- not put yourself in any situation (whether at or outside of work), which is or may be perceived to be in
conflict or compete with Woolworths' interests, or detract from your ability to perform your duties,
responsibilities or obligations to Woolworths. If this occurs, you must inform your leader immediately
and work with them to resolve the situation; and
- promote and act in Woolworths' best interests, not disparage Woolworths (or any
Woolworths company), and not otherwise act in a way harmful to
Woolworths' (or any Woolworths company's) reputation and good standing. This includes
during and outside working hours and on social media.
- engage in any conduct, which in our opinion, could cause material damage to Woolworths' reputation
or business interests; or
- are charged with, or found guilty of, a criminal offence which in our opinion adversely impacts your ability to
perform your role, your reputation or our reputation.
On termination of your employment, you must return all Woolworths property to us immediately.
- ongoing and intermittent surveillance of use of computer and other electronic and communications
systems by our team members, including emails, internet, SMS, online chat and files (including files stored
on team members' work computers and devices); and
- ongoing and continuous camera surveillance while you are on our premises.
You acknowledge and agree that the surveillance will start on the date you start employment under this letter.
Woolworths means Woolworths Group Limited (ACN 000 014 675) and its Related Bodies Corporate (as
defined in the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth)).
Welcome to the team. We look forward to working together and the contributions you can make to our business.
Yours sincerely,
Amy Joseph
