Hi,

I’m Luka and I will tell you something about my life in quarantine and after the
earthquake.

In just couple of weeks things have changed a lot for me. Now I have online
school so one part of the day I spend doing work for my online classes and
studying and in my free time I’m with my mum in our little garden. I have
online trainings too, but I still have enough time to play with my friends on
PlayStation.

My life now is pretty different than before. I don’t go to normal school anymore,
when I go out of the house I wear a face mask, in the street and in front of
supermarkets I have to keep distance from other people and I wash hands more
often and use disinfectant. /dizinfektnt/

There are more negative than positive things in this situation, but it’s positive
that I can spend more time with my family and I have more free time and
negative things are that I can’t go to the playground and I can’t hang out with
my friends in person.

I like online school and I think it is more appropriate (mislim da nisu učili ovu
riječ –izgovara se apropriejt) for me than normal school (ili može reći I think it
is better for me) because I have peace and quiet so I can concentrate more when
I am working. Nobody is disturbing me and I can follow the classes even if I’m
ill. The negative thing about it is that I can’t see my classmates and teachers.

My family and I are trying to be ok. The biggest problem for us was the
earthquake. Our building is old and it got damaged by it. We still react to every
sound and it will take some time for us to relax and forget.

I’m afraid of a new earthquake and feel worried that our building will collapse
but I do my best to be positive and not worry too much.

I’m looking forward to a sunny day because then I can spend time in my yard
and my garden. It makes me happy to see four baby blackbirds in our shed and
also that we are all healthy. I’m looking forward to things getting back to
normal, going to tennis training, music school and hanging out with my friends.
( look forward to je radovati se nečemu u budućnosti tak da sam nadodala neke
stvari).
These days I have learnt that I have to lose the feeling of fear and stress. I have
learnt that nature is stronger than humans and we have to respect it much more.
And also, I have learnt that I’m braver and stronger than I thought, I can cope
with the stress when I have support from my family and we all have to find a
way how to go on with our lives.

My family and I have made a small garden and planted lots of flowers and
vegetables. Working in the garden relaxes me and makes me happy.

People should do something that makes them happy and something they haven’t
had time to do before. They should enjoy the little things to stay positive.

They can learn from this situation that their actions are limited. It doesn’t matter
how much money, knowledge or power we have, nature is still stronger than us.

If they find a vaccine for covid19, life will be similar to before. If they don’t,
our lives will change completely. So let’s hope they find it soon.

The first thing I will do when the quarantine ends is go to a football match.
