Assignment – 1

Q1. Describe 2 situations in your life till date in which you felt
any of the following emotions
 Anger
 Jealousy
 Thrill/Excitement
 Happiness
 Love (for any other person)
Ans. 1) Situation based on Jealousy: -
I was in 9th standard at that time. This situation pertains to
a guy, who was my classmate. He was not a friend of mine,
we used to interact with each other on rare occasions.
What made me jealous of him was that he was an all-
rounder to such an extent, that a person like me could only
dreamt of to become like him. He was equally spectacular
in both academic and extra-curricular activities. He was
very nice to everyone. He had also zero attitude with a very
calm and composed nature. He used to help everyone and
therefore, he was the “Star Kid” of my class. He was “the
guy” amongst the girls. His physique was close to perfect
with lean body mass and tall height. All the teachers loved
him for his ethics, performances etc. He also kept a keen
interest in spirituality. When he used to participate in any
kind of competition like: - dance, singing, creative writing,
debate, 400 m, 200 m race etc. he was sure shot to be the
winner and he actually, won all those competitions
with comprehensive victories. It was like that he had no
weakness at all or there was nothing, he was not good at.
I always wondered how can someone be so good in
everything.
In my life till now, I have met nobody like him and at that he
seemed to be a perfect child that everybody aspires to
become.

2) Situation based on Love: -

Love is one of the most beautiful gifts in the world given to
humans by the God. When that happens to a person,
everything seems so beautiful and good, that he/she is living
in the world of his/her own. That beautiful event was
experienced by me, when I was in 10th standard. There was a
girl who was new admission in my class at that time. I was
attracted to her at the very first sight. She had beautiful
brown eyes with long hair and she looked cute. I initially did
not have an interaction with other as I was feeling nervous
to even approach her. She used to struggle a lot in maths as
she had not good grasp over the concepts taught in class.
I was a topper in Maths at that time. She approached me to
clear her doubts and I could not believe that she was sitting
beside me. I used to clear her doubts everyday and she liked
my way of clearing the concepts. This happened for 6
months, meanwhile we became more than good friends like: -
we used to hang out with each other after school at nearby
areas, we used to share tiffin. Her only male friend in class
was me. When she used to be there, I used to go in a different
dream world without paying any heed to what else is going on.
I then took her phone number and we used to talk till 1 am.
Then, on her birthday I proposed her and she accepted the
proposal. We used to go for movies, watch movies at her
house etc.

Q2. What do you think you can do to improve upon your feelings
in the above-described situations.
Ans. In the 1st Situation which was about the guy, now I see, at
that time, there was no need to get jealous. To improve upon
that feeling, I think I should have accepted the fact that he
was way better than me in every aspect and I should have
taken inspiration from him to excel in all the areas to the best
of my ability. If I could not become the best at that time, I
could have worked to become the 2nd best guy. I could have
learned some tips and tricks from him to counter
problematic areas of mine. I also could have used his
approach to deal with different type of situation and he could
have been my mentor cum friend. In the 2nd situation, I think
to improve upon my feelings, I should have been confident
enough to approach her first and I think I was a bit late in
proposing her, since I was hesitating since last 3 months to
say those words to her. I think jealousy feeling can be
improved and now talking about love, it cannot be improved,
it can only be worked upon to a certain extent by both the
people in relationship.

Q3. Write a short essay/make a small video on your Strengths and

Weaknesses.
Ans. I firmly believe that Strengths and Weaknesses are part and
parcel of life. Everyone does possess a combination of both,
since no one is perfect. Coming to my strengths, what I feel is
my biggest strength is not losing my temper, no matter
what life throws at me, simply because I know not all the
days are same. Each and every day provides a prodigious
opportunity to make my life better. Another strength of mine
is the willingness to learn new things that I have never
experienced/witnessed before like: - Delving into the
details of manifestation. My next strength is my attitude to
help others in need. Sometimes, it backfires and I feel
dejected, but I push myself to remain on this track. My last
strength is not being concerned with what others think about
me. This personally helps me a lot to do whatever I feel is
right both mentally and physically.
Now, progressing to my Weaknesses. When I start something
related to my future, I feel unconfident. It may be due to a
strata of experiences where I have failed miserably or not
meeting my own expectations. Another weakness that I
possess is of Overthinking. I do overthink on most of the
situations, maybe I am too conscious or it is something else,
which I don’t know. My next weakness is that being
disorganized in performing tasks. What I do is when I feel
that I have the willingness to do it, then I perform the task.
I perform tasks according to my own choice. My last
weakness is focusing too much on details, which I feel is not
right every time.
Assignment – 2

Q1. Describe any one situation till date in your life when you felt
self-confident.
Ans. Taking a leaf out of my life till now, I am going to describe a
situation that is really close to my heart. I was in 8 th standard
at that time. At that time, there used to be an Olympiad
which was conducted yearly by the National Aeronautics and
Space Administration (NASA) and to be eligible to sit for that
Olympiad, one preliminary exam was to be given. Now,
the selection for that Olympiad was rigorous. The first step
was, all the students from standard 1st to 12th will have to
appear for preliminary exam which was mandatory. Out of
those 2359 (total no. of students in my school), only 150
students were to be selected for the Olympiad. I somehow
got selected with a rank of 122 which was slightly low owing
to the level of my preparation, but I knew from my heart that
I will be able to make it no matter how the exam is,
considering I was given tricks from my close friend who had
just topped the Olympiad 2 years ago with 99.6% marks
(A record that time). I was thinking whether I will be able to
break it or not.
The next step for me, was to clear the Olympiad with flying
colours, win the Gold Medal, justify my preliminary exam
hard work and also break that percentage record. After giving
the exam, I was extremely confident that I will be ending in
the top 3. Fast forward to the result, I topped the Olympiad
with 100% marks and I won the prestigious Gold Medal.

Q2. Describe any one situation till date in your life when you felt
low on self-confidence.
Ans. Plucking a page from my life book, I am going to describe a
situation where I was forced to think that I cannot do this,
no matter how hard I try. I was in 7th standard at that time.
I was a good player of chess at that time consistently ranked
in top 3 of my whole class. I used to participate in the district
level competitions of chess a lot. Once in a school in Vikaspuri,
I was the only person representing 7th class owing to the
illness of my other 2 team mates. I reached the final
comfortably and was scheduled to have match with a guy
from that same school itself, for whom the audience was
shouting “Chess ka Badshah…”. I remembered that my friend
told me something about “Chess ka Badshah”, he said that
this guy has ruthlessly beaten even Under 16 players, so if you
meet him by chance at any point of time, you stand no chance
of winning. To, this whole conversation, I did not pay much
attention at that time. But when I was going up towards that
opponent chair, I remembered a line that “you stand no
chance” after which I was feeling unconfident and I started
sweating a lot. Then, the match happened, I was brutally
defeated in less than 5 minutes with no chance of giving a
check to him even once (this was very first time that I have
been defeated with such ruthlessness). This defeat pinched me
hard. After this, I went home feeling dejected and got myself
enrolled in chess classes. I worked hard for a year and then
again, participated in that competition, that guy again met me
again, in the final and this time, I was defeated in just a minute.
The fear of facing this guy got instilled in my mind and I was not
able to defeat 9-year-olds who were a cakewalk for me earlier.
Years changed, but the result was same. At the end, in class
11th, I decided to leave chess once and for all.

Q3. Compare the two situations and explain how you can improve
upon your self-confidence.
Ans. To improve my self-confidence, after comparing both the
situations, what I can do is not be so much result oriented
and just give my best without worrying about the outcome.
Just enjoy the process that indirectly makes those
experiences/situations memorable. Like in the case of
Olympiad (1st Situation), where I was weighing hard work
with the rank allotted in the preliminary exam and felt bad
for not achieving the desired rank, rather I should have
remembered the time spent with my friend, that
eagerness to crack the exam, reading those interesting
chapters and lot of things which I learned. Likewise, in the
Chess (2nd Situation), rather than feeling dejected for losing
the final, I should have remembered my passion for playing
the chess in front of which competition is a small thing, the
beautiful journey from prelims to final, myself being
consistently recognized by teachers, parents and friends.
The other thing I can do is be fearless and not get frightened
by someone’s stature and records. Like in the 2nd situation,
before the match I was frightened of chess ka Badshah
which hampered my performance. I should have focused on
my capability and strengths. In the 1st situation, I was
anxious whether I would break the record of 99.6% or not. In
this, I should have focused on relying on my hard work.

Q4. What are Positive and Negative emotions? Describe what you
can do to experience more of positive emotions in life.
Ans. Positive emotions are those that we as a human strive for
everyday. It makes us feel good internally. What I feel is that
they are derived from something which happened to us,
it may be the size of a particle or gigantic as the universe.
These are those emotions that streamline the process of
releasing serotonin in our body, which indeed uplifts one’s
mood. For ex- Proud, Excited, Grateful, Relieved etc.
Continuing to the same sense of words, it is fixed that
the negative emotions are also derived. These are those
emotions that make a person unsatisfied with life, no matter
even a good thing is going on. For ex- Guilty, Helpless,
Suffocated, Cheated etc. What I can do to experience more of
positive emotions in life are focus on good things, since, life
gives 100 reasons to smile even if there are 1000 reasons to
cry, forgiving others, which in turn relieves me from any
stress or anxiety. Living life like it is the last day of my allotted
breath count, which forces me to live in accordance with the
full potential of myself. And at the end, remembering one
quote daily that “This too shall pass”.

Q5. Think creatively and come up with a new idea for an

innovative product/service. You can use the ICEDIP model of
creative thinking for this purpose.
Ans. A new idea which I think will work, is presented below in
accordance with the ICEDIP Model: -
“A wrist watch to prevent negativity”
1) Inspiration: - The idea of a specifically designed wrist
watch comes from the fact that there indeed exists an
enormous amount of negativity in this fast-moving world,
where people minds are taken over by anxiety, depression,
suicidal thoughts, useless etc, and they are surrounded by
negative environment. They feel helpless due to this
emotion for which they take pills in order to have a relief
from this emotion for definite period of time.

2) Clarification: - The person using this wrist watch will have

his/her mind connected with the watch through
Electroencephalogram (EEG) brain waves which will be
detected by the sensors in watch. The goal is to get a person
rid of negative emotions. When a person starts feeling
negative, the watch will play favourite songs connected to
the phone of person through Bluetooth to soothe the
person and if the negativity stills persist, through assistant
it will beep first and ask the person to socialize or to go out
for a walk or watch a movie. If the person refuses, it will put
the person to sleep by manipulating the brain waves to
refresh the person.

3) Evaluation: - There is one weakness that manipulating the

brain waves can be a bit risky, when the person refuses to
perform what is being told. So, for that issue electronic cash
rewards can be there which will enlighten the mood of
person and he/she will perform the task as per the direction
of watch. If the watch starts to dwindle down or does not
work effectively, then it can be switched off by saying shut
down.

4) Distillation: - I think in this phase, all the ideas seem relevant

and if properly worked upon (nothing is perfect, everything
needs improvement to be the best version of itself) can prove
to be fruitful for the whole human race.

5) Incubation: - I leave the work-related problem alone when I

not feel energetic enough to brainstorm it. After, taking a nap,
I am generally able to find out the solution to that problem.

6) Perspiration: - In this phase, I will make the whole process

more effective and efficient by using more efficient ways like: -
increasing sensor speed using much higher quality diodes to
reduce the time of brain signals detection and bring it to
nanoseconds and also explore what else can be done to
eradicate negativity from mind. Maybe I find a way to tweak
the thought process using watch.
