COLLEGE OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY

SERVER TECHNOLOGIES 1 LABORATORY

COURSE SYLLABUS`

Course Code : 6SERVER1

Prerequisite : 6COMTECH
Course Credit : 3 Units (2 hours LEC, 3 hours LAB) Year Level: 2nd year
Degree Program : BSIT with Area of Specialization in Network Administration
Course Description:

This course provides intensive introduction to multi-user and multi-tasking environment of network operating systems. It also
provides how to establish a communication relationship between a server computer and client computers through installation of roles
and services. This knowledge area consists of those skills and concepts that are essential to the administration of operating systems
on client workstations, networks and software, file systems, policies and procedures. The students will perform concrete, hands-on
experiences including installation and configuration procedures, security implementation, back up procedures and remote access.

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

Grading System
The final grade in this course will be composed of the following items and their weights in the final grade computation:

PRELIM GRADE = (LEC + LAB) / 2

LEC = (( PEXAM * .30) + (PQUIZ * .70) )
LAB = ((PEXAM_LAB * .40) + (((LE1 + PSKILLS))/2* .60))

MIDTERM GRADE = (LEC + LAB) / 2

LEC = (( MEXAM * .30) + (MQUIZ * .70) )
LAB = ((MEXAM_LAB * .40)+ (((LE2 + MSKILLS))/2* .60))

FINAL GRADE = (LEC + LAB) / 2
