- The software to be downloaded is available on a Windows PC on which LoLa is installed together with
BOOTP and TFTP server preconfigured for OXO CPUs and OXO Connect Evolution.
- The installation ramdisk, being uploaded by the TFTP server to the CPU, execute a script file that prepares
the board to communicate with LoLa and retrieve the OXO files to be loaded in the CPU flash.
- File transfer is done thanks to SAMBA mounting.
What changes
Starting with Windows 10 build 1709 update, the SMBv1 protocol is disabled by default in Windows for
security reason and it is no longer possible to load a CPU with LoLa, unless SMBv1 protocol is temporarily
reactivated.
Solution
Starting with the LoLa version 400/23.1, file transfer will be done using NFS protocol instead of SMBv1.
Note Transition to NFS protocol requires a modification of the LoLa tool and an adaptation in the OXO software
to modify the installation ramdisk.
This implies that:
1. Lola 400/28.1 only works with the new OXO system versions using NFS protocol (see compatibility
table below).
2. For the maintenance of installed base with old system release, it is mandatory to use previous LoLa
400/21.2 and enable temporarily the SMBv1 protocol on the PC.
Compatibility
2.1 Installation
Lola application
LoLa 400/28.1 is installed and used in the same way as previous versions - there is no difference.
Reminder:
- LoLa installation: run the setup.exe installation with administrator right,
- modify the program shortcut privilege level to always "Run as an administrator".
External component
When both versions 21.2 & 28.1 are installed on a PC, LoLa applications uses the same BOOTP and TFTP
server.
The BOOTP server does not contain any specific configuration related to LoLa application version.
- start LoLa select the Lola version according to OXO release to upload
- fill in the different parameters: software - country - licenses etc ...
Remark: the FreeNFS server is automatically started with Lola 400/28.1 – there is nothing to configure. The
process is automatically closed when closing Lola.
3 Windows 10 configuration
After upgrade to Windows 10 build 1709, the SMBv1 protocol is disabled by default for security
enhancement.
To be able to load an old OXO version with Lola 21.2 we must temporarily enable the protocol:
- access to the Windows configuration menu - Program and Features – Turn Windows Features on or off and
enable " SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support ".
- restart the PC to take the modification into account
