You are on page 1of 2

A: hi Nhung

B: hi

A: long time no see, how are you these days?

B: It's okay, wbu?

A: I'm good. why are you sweating so much, are you tired?

B: no I just did sports

A: oh that sounds interesting, what sport is it?

B: that's yoga

A: you call yoga a sport? I do not think so

B: So why do you think yoga is not a sport?

A: because A sport is generally defined as a physical activity that includes a competitive component
and i don’t see competitive in yoga

B: I don't think a sport has to be competitive, because sport makes you stronger and more flexible
and yoga does that.

A: It's just stretching. It may be good for you, but it's boring too! So it can't be a sport

B: oh but, I think that yoga is and should be considered a sport because yoga it is helpful to do togs,
it can help your health and of course yoga has many more benefits and of course everyone should
do yoga because it is good for them

A: I don't deny that yoga has health benefits, but there are not really any rules and there's no way to
cheat or become a pro at yoga. Hence, it's not a sport.

B: a sport doesn't have to be competitive, it can simply improve your health because yoga exists to
help us relax and helps us get rid of our sadness and anger too by the way.

A: I don't think so because it's not a physically hard activity. To be successful in any sport, athletes
must placed a lot of effort. Football, gymnastics, water polo, and every other Olympic sport fall
within this category. Yoga does not need the mental strength that most sports need. A person can
do yoga at any age, but you can only do sport with sharp wits about ones self.

B: Yoga needs practice, physical power, and even mental fortitude. All of those are necessary for any
form of sport. And just because you don't finish it sweating or completely out of breath doesn't
mean that it is not a sport.

A: It's a workoutform. I believe that in order for it to be a sport, you must be able to compete in it,
and how do you compete in yoga? Maybe if you had a jury that judged how well you did the moves,
but then it wouldn't be yoga since it's all about what you feel inside, not the jury!!!!
B: I believe it is a sport since you do not have to compete for it to be a sport. It entails physical labor
and a great deal of practice, thus it qualifies as a sport since you profit physically from it, which is all
that is required for it to be considered a sport.

A: It is not a continuous workout. for example, in soccer you are continuously running and doing
something. In yoga, you do one technique or posture and hold it for a set amount of time. Yes,
flexibility is required, but it lacks many of the components that a typical sport would require.

B: Yoga is a form of exercise , and all exercise is a type of sport, hence yoga is a sport. Yoga pushes
you to become healthy and can be quite difficult, but just because it is not a violent activity does not
mean it does not count as a sport.

A: but, there is not a way to "win" in yoga. Although it is laboring on the body, it has most of the key
traits that sports need to be sports. That is why yoga is more of a type of exercise than a sport.
Everyone has their own way of thinking about sports, This is just my opinion about what sport is. So
let’s enjoy it.

B: alright, so, I suggest you to try yoga because it's really good for the soul and it can be really useful

A: sure, I'll try it. it's time for me to go. see you later

B: see you later
