The most efficient way to order parts on
Parts.cat.com is to create an account.
Creating an account allows you to set personal
ordering preferences to expedite the purchase
process. To create an online account:

1 Click the Register button from the Sign In /
Register drop down

After clicking you will be directed to the Find

Your Dealer page.

The Find Your Dealer Store page will
prompt you to provide your location
information.
1.1 At this point you can enter your: 1 2
1. Address, City and State or
2. Postal code or
3. Country

2 You will then select the Go button
and the system will identify the
closest dealer based on the given
location.

After entering your location information you
will be taken to the Store Locations Results
page.

On this page you will be presented with a

map of dealer branches within the selected
radius of the location information you
entered.

1 You will want to review all the various

locations and click the Select Dealer
button to identify the store you are
purchasing from.

If you have a PartStore account you already
have a Parts.cat.com account. Use your
existing username and password to sign in to
Parts.cat.com.*

1.1 Click the Sign In / Register button in the
global navigation
2.2 Enter your username and password
and press the Sign In button

* The first time you sign in to the site you may be

prompted to supply new information required by
Parts.cat.com.

If you have an account set up with multiple
dealers you will be presented with a list
dealers and your associated account
numbers. To complete this step:

1 Select the dealer you are ordering
from

2 If you have multiple accounts with this
dealer, select the account you are 2

known serial numbers associated with
this dealer and account .

option to choose between a stock and
emergency or standard order.

Finding a Part
There are several ways to find a part on 2 3 4 1
Parts.cat.com.
1.1 Site Search
2.2 Shop by Category
3.3 Part Lookup
4.4 Service Information System or SIS*

* The link to access SIS will only appear if

you are logged into the site and your online
account has been connected to your pre-
existing dealer account.

Do not be concerned if you don’t see the

SIS link. The Part Lookup feature performs
the same function with an easier interface.

You can find parts by using our Site Search

feature.

1.1 If you already know your part number

you can enter the part number you’re
looking for into the search box in the
top navigation. You can also enter
key search terms or words into the
search box. Such as: tires or filters.

2 You can narrow your site search by
selecting the specific parts category
you are looking for.

After entering the part number into the
search box and pressing the search icon,
you will be taken to the Parts Detail Page.

On the Parts Detail Page you will be able to

see a picture of the part, the description,
specifications and the part’s price and
availability with your local dealer. You may

also see any re-manufactured or alternate
parts available for this part. 2

On this page you can:

1.1 Update the quantity you wish to
purchase and check availability.
2.2 Select Add to Cart to place the item
in your shopping cart.

Category
There are 2 Ways to find parts using 1
Category search:

1 Click the ‘Shop by Category’ link
in the top navigation

2 Select one of the 30 categories
from the left navigation

Clicking on either category link will take

you to the appropriate parts category
page.
Find by
Category
On the Category page we have
organized the parts into sub-
categories. Next to each sub-category
will be the count of all parts within this
sub-category. The part specifications
determine which sub-category each
part is a member of.

The category page is also where we

provide additional information. Such
as:
• Online reference materials
• Service information
• Video content

Selecting one of the sub-categories

takes you to the sub-category page.

On each sub-category page we have
organized parts with common
characteristics into smaller groupings
allowing you to narrow your results
based on key selection criteria.

At this point – you can shop the entire

sub-category or navigate specifically to
one of the smaller groupings based on
your needs.

Category
You can control the view of the parts
displayed within their sub-category.
You can:
1.1 Sort the parts by Relevance or 1 2 3
Name.
2.2 Select the number of parts
displayed on each page (from 12-
96 with 12 being the default)
3.3 Display the parts in a list or grid
view.

At this point you will have two options.

1 If you are certain this is the part
you need you can adjust the
quantity and add this part to your
cart by clicking the Add to Cart
button.

2 If you would like to view more

details about this part click on the
part number and description to be
taken to the Parts Detail Page.

Part Lookup
The Part Lookup feature provides the 1
ability for you to find parts associated to a
particular serial number.

This feature allows you to access the Parts

book information and 2D graphics from
Caterpillars Service Information System
(SIS) for your machine/engine.

1.1 Clicking the Part Lookup link in the

top navigation will take you to the Part
Lookup page.

enter a serial number.

account has been linked to your
dealer account you will be able to 1

44. Clicking the search button will
retrieve all the information stored
about this serial number from the
SIS parts books.

Part Lookup
You will be presented with 2D graphics,
helping you to identify the part(s) needed
for your repair.

Drilling down to the lowest level of detail

will return the specific part numbers,
descriptions, dealer price and
recommended quantities.

If for some reason we can not locate a part

in the dealers inventory we will direct you to
contact your dealer.

If a part has been replaced we will display a

message and you will be able to view
details about the replacement part.

1.1 You can add some or all parts to your

cart by clicking the add to cart button.

Accessing SIS
If you don’t know your part number or

would like to confirm which parts are
needed for your repair one of the best
ways is by accessing Caterpillars Service
Information System – also known as SIS.

There are several prerequisites that must

exist for you to be able to access SIS
from Parts.cat.com:
• Your online account must be
connected to your pre-existing dealer
account
• You must be logged into
Parts.cat.com

SIS allows you to view equipment parts

books, 3D technical drawings and other
information made available by your local
Cat dealer.

1 In order to view 3D graphics, make
sure you have downloaded the first 3
plug ins from the Downloads section.
Also, 3D graphics are only compatible
with Internet Explorer.

Parts.cat.com in the top right corner
to exit SIS.

There are several different ways to search
for parts in SIS. 4

1 To start your search you’ll need to
enter the 3 digit serial number prefix 3
of your equipment or select a serial
number from the drop down menu.

2 Select As Shipped to view all the parts
on the machine as it was shipped
from the factory

3 Select the Filter search to view all the
filters on your machine

4 Type in a key word such as battery to
view the batteries on your machine

5 Lastly, and probably the most popular,
search is by System & Components

Accessing SIS
After navigating through SIS to arrive at the
appropriate parts list, you can select the
desired parts and quantities needed for the
repair.

At this point you can:

1.1 Click the ‘Add to Shopping Cart’
button. This allows you to add these
parts to your SIS shopping cart and
continue looking for additional parts
within SIS.
2.2 Click the ‘Order Parts’ button.
Clicking the Order Parts button will
automatically transfer you back to

Parts.cat.com. The selected parts
from SIS will be added to the Quick
Order page of Parts.cat.com.

Quick Order
Feature
The Quick Order feature is ideal when you 1
know the part numbers and have multiple
parts to order at once.

In order to use the Quick Order feature you

must be logged into the site. This ensures
we display the accurate price and
availability within a specific dealers store.

1.1 Navigate to the Quick Order page by

clicking on the Quick Order link in the
top navigation.

There are multiple ways to enter parts into

the Quick Order form.

11. Manually. You can simply enter the

quantity and part numbers needed.
22. Upload. You can upload a .CSV file
from your computer in a predefined 1
format and the quantity and part
numbers will populate the page. 2

Note: This is currently the only way to

order dealer specific parts at this time.

Quick Order
Feature
When we retrieve the dealer price and
availability we will also check the dealers
inventory for alternative parts and offer
these options for you to choose from. At
that point you can:

1 Select one of the options available.

2 Clicking the ‘Next” button will add the

selected part your cart and 1
automatically transfer you to the
shopping cart.

Quick Order

Upload .CVS file

1.1 If you click on Choose File you will be

able to find a file on your local
computer and upload a list of parts.
2.2 After locating and selecting the file 2
from your computer the ‘Upload”
button will now become Active.
Clicking the Upload button will
populate the Quick Order page with
the quantity and part numbers on the
selected file. 2

3 Clicking the order button will connect
with the dealers inventory systems to
retrieve alternate parts (if any exist),
prices, and availability then add these 3
parts to the cart transferring you to
the shopping cart.

Check Out
After a customer has successfully placed 1
parts in their cart they can navigate to the
shopping cart page where they can
proceed to checkout. From the shopping
cart page customers can: 4

•1 Select the Continue Shopping button

to add more parts to their cart
•2 Click on the Export Shopping Cart
button to export the contents of their
cart to a file for download
•3 Click the Check Out button to proceed 4

to Shipping and Billing page.
•4 Customers can also choose to remove 2

Check Out
After selecting the Checkout button on the
shopping cart page you’ll be sent to the
Shipping and Billing page. On this page
you can:

Billing Method page you will be taken to
the order summary page where you will
