II. ESSAY:

1. How do you reconcile the concept of happiness presented by different authorities with
your concept based on your experience?

Aristotle concept about happiness says that it is a work of soul in virtue

completeness. Happiness comes in time due to self-cultivation. Socrates says that
happiness is obtained through human effort, harmonizing the different parts of
one’s soul, gaining rational control over desires, self-knowledge, need to know
what is good for you, generosity, and virtue. Dalai Lama’s concept is the main
motivation of our life is aspiration and happiness. Razmik Aydinyan says about
happiness is it is the satisfaction due to possession of benefits. On the other hand,
Bertrand Russell says that a happy man is the one who lives unprejudiced with free
independent affections and huge range of interests. The personality of such man is
directed towards the external world. Maxwell Maltz concept of happiness is that the
key for happy life is an adequate and true image of yourself. While Lev Landau
concept of happiness is the man is obliged and even must to be happy. Happiness
is enjoyment of life, love, work, and communication with people.

To sum it up, happiness is a choice. We can be found the real happiness in

our heart. Based on my own experienced, I find happiness when I am achieving
something or I achieved one of my goals in life and making my mom proud of every
achievement that I made. Happiness is when I am with my family and when I am
surrounded by my friends and someone that truly loves me. Buying books, eating,
shopping clothes, and fangirling also makes me happy. That’s how I find happiness
in life.
