Offering one crore lamps

As far as offering Tulasi twig in the Dāmodara-pūjā,
in the Padma Purāṇa it says if we offer the lamp

Instructions with tulasī to Lord Kṛṣṇa, then we get the result of

one hundred fire sacrifices. And giving one
hundred cows in charity. Also, in the same Purāṇa it
& Revelations mentions that if we offer lamp to Kṛṣṇa on tulasī,
then it is equal to one crore or ten million lamps.

pandemic
We saw that even in South America, Cuenca,
the people offered a small candle to the
picture of Yaśodā Dāmodara. Maybe they
were reminded of Lord Jesus and Mother
Mary Whatever it is, we told them it is Kṛṣṇa
and Yaśodā and they lined up and offered
the lamp. So they are all getting ajñāta-
sukṛti, they are getting the benefit,
knowingly or unknowingly and I heard in
Malaysia in some of the stalls, in the Diwali
sale, was dedicated to Dāmodara-pūjā. So
people from various communities would
come up and participate in this offering of
lamp. So I just want to encourage everyone, I
think this is very important and by this
method you can encourage existing
congregational members and you can make
new congregational members. So, it is a very
effective way of outreach. To increase the
number of devotees and to increase their
active participation, giving them blessings
and good fortune. It is a ray of hope in this
darkness after the pandemic.

the wind, that causes a forest fire. So, in that way, simply the forest fire is created by the
situation. This way, in this Kali-yuga, there is no reason, and a quarrel starts. The people,
they are agitated by some false rumor. We respect all religions, and we are very much
respectful to all the religions. But misuse of social media like Facebook etc. which spread
false information, so much trouble is produced. In this way Bangladesh Hindus and Muslims,
they live together very peacefully. But due to the influence of Kali-yuga unnecessarily some
people are disturbed.

 The real solution is to leave the material world
We are trying to make the world peaceful. But like Srila Prabhupada was saying, if we fall
into the ocean and if we pray to Kṛṣṇa make the ocean peaceful, that is not the solution. The
real solution is that we should leave the ocean and come out to the dry land. We should
leave the material world and live with the Supreme Personality of Godhead in
His eternal abode. So the sages in Naimiṣāraṇya, they wanted to hear about
Parīkṣit and Lord Kṛṣṇa, so they were very glorious. Every day, we
should spend some time hearing or reading about Kṛṣṇa.

Understanding education as
told by Srila Prabhupada
Śrīla Prabhupāda stressed that we should
educate the children in the Bhāgavatam. And
he said that education is meant to teach we
are not the body, to understand the activities
of Lord Kṛṣṇa. And if we don’t learn to serve
Kṛṣṇa, our educational experience is spoilt.
Śrīla Prabhupāda also said that the Śrīmad-
Bhāgavatam is the science of Kṛṣṇa
consciousness. So, science means something
one has to learn. How to apply it. The “Bāla-
Bhāgavatam” will teach the youth, the glories
of Kṛṣṇa and the pure devotees, and many
stories which, generally I think, children like
stories! And these stories actually teach what
the science of Kṛṣṇa consciousness is.

Srimad Bhagavatam
is going and I am going

Śrīla Prabhupāda had the desire to spread the saṅkīrtana movement
of Lord Caitanya all over the world. He told the people in Vṛndāvana that
he wanted to go to the West. Lord Caitanya had predicted that his message would
be spread all over the world. But the other sādhus of Vṛndāvana said, oh, that is not for
civilized world, this is for India. They did not believe that it could be spread all over the
world. Pṛthivite means, all over the globe. How Śrīla Prabhupāda he had this thing about
Lord Caitanya’s message, and he went to the West and took up this great sacrifice. That time
he did not have this huge devotee population – he only had some Śrīmad-Bhāgavatams and
himself. One person asked, “Are you going to the West?” He said, “Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam is
going, I am accompanying.” We all know that the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam is the literary
incarnation of Kṛṣṇa

don’t serve the Lord without fruitive
desire or mental speculation.
Therefore, Kṛṣṇa says the pure
devotee is very, very rare. But if one
serves Kṛṣṇa in this way, in a pure
state if one engages in devotional
service, then he gets transcendental
spiritual bliss. Then he has what one
says, Paramānanda. So we want our
devotees to understand the real
benefit of life that Lord
Caitanya gives us

Vishnu Sahasranama
When Lord Caitanya was hearing about the Viṣṇu-
sahasranāma and they came up to Varāhadeva, then
He manifested four hoofs. And He was running
around like a boar. If someone says or declares he is
God, we will ask them please show your hoofs. Lord
Caitanya, He manifested different līlās. When He
heard the name of Narasiṁhadeva, He ran out in the
street with a stick. Then He said, “Where are the
demons? Where are the demons? I will kill them!”

Rūpa and Śrī Vallabha were very exalted since they
were constantly chanting the holy names. This

How they celebrated

Bodies are actually dead. Body is not
alive. It’s made to appear alive because
of the presence of the atma,the soul. You
take the soul out of the body, it’s again
appearing as it actually is dead. So we
put so much emphasis on the body and
are trying to make the body satisfied,
the body comfortable. But the body is a
vehicle, we should use it to take us back
to home, back to Godhead. We should
use it, as Prabhupada used to say, “Make
the best use of a bad bargain.” We have
a material body, that means we have to
suffer birth, death, old age, disease. We
have to suffer different types of miseries
in the material world, but at the same
time this body can also bring us to
eternal happiness and liberation.

So we should make the best use of a bad

To advance in
spiritual life, you don't
need to be rich
Question: Is the spiritual progress of a person
dependent on his material status?

Jayapatākā Swami: No! Advancement in spiritual life is not dependent on anything

material. If one is born in a rich family, the advantage is that they don’t have to struggle to
maintain themselves, but some similar situations can be helpful, but it is not essential to
make advancement. Kṛṣṇa says in Bhagavad-gītā that if someone serves Him and doesn’t
finish, they don’t lose, they are either born in a family of rich merchant or devotee, or they
take birth in heavenly planets. So there is no loss by doing devotional service even if one
doesn’t finish. And one can advance in any situation. Look at Prahlāda Mahārāja, he
advanced even he was in the family of demons.
