So sánh ngang bằng

1.1. Định nghĩa

So sánh bằng dùng để so sánh 2 người, 2 vật, 2 việc, 2 nhóm đối tượng
cùng tính chất.

1.2. Công thức

 Với tính từ và trạng từ

 S1 + to be + as + adj+ as + (S2 + tobe) + O

 S1 + V+ as + adv+ as + (S2 + V) + O

EX: Peter is as tall as Justin. – Peter thì cao bằng Justin.

Khanh studies as well as his sister

Is the party as fun as she expected? – Bữa tiệc có vui như cô ấy mong
đợi không?

 Trong câu phủ định “SO” có thể thay thế cho “AS”
EX: Midterm exam is not as/so tough as final exam. – Thi giữa kỳ thì
không khó bằng kì thi cuối kỳ.

I can’t draw as/ so beautifully as her. – Tôi không thể vẽ đẹp bằng cô

ấy.
Với danh từ

Công thức: 

S + to be + the same + (noun) + as + noun/ pronoun.

EX: The red book is three times as expensive as the white book =

The red book is the same price as the white book. -Cuốn sách đỏ có
giá bằng với cuốn sách trắng.

Note:

 Chúng ta chỉ có thể dùng “the same as” chứ không thể dùng “the

same like” trong công thức so sánh hơn.
 Khi nói gấp bao nhiêu lần, ta dùng cấu trúc: twice as … as, three
times as … as, …
EX: Her book costs three times as much as mine. – Sách của cô ta đắt
gấp 3 lần sách tôi.
  Dùng one, those, these,.. để rút gọn danh từ ở vế 2, tránh lặp lại
từ nhiều lần.
EX: The flower dresses is as expensive as these. ( one ở đây thay thế
cho dress ở vế đầu) – Chiếc váy hoa này mắc bằng chiếc váy đơn giản
kia.

Exercise 1:
1. Tony/ be/ talkative/ John. => Tony is as talkative as John
2. Her cat/ be/ adorable/ my cat.
3. His car/ be/ cheap/ my car.
4. My friend/ do/ homework/ well/ I.
=>my friend do homework as well as (I do) me

Exercise 2:
 She is not (tall) her sister =>she is’nt as tall as her sister
 John is (thin) me => John is as thin as me
 Peter is (young) his friend => Peter is as young as his friend
 My book is (thick) yours => My book is as thick as yours
 He plays tennis (well) Peter => He plays tennis as well as Peter
 Her hair is (long) Mary’s hair =>her hair is as long as Mary’s hair / Her hair
is the same length as Mary’s hair
 Her hair is (height) Mary’s hair => Her hair is as height as Mary’s hair / Her
hair is the same length as Mary’s hair
 They have (children) we do. => They have twice as children as we do
