The Barrio fiesta is depicting a celebration wherein Filipinos are showing their talents as a way to

entertain and show the joyful side of the celebration. The main focus of the painting is the pair of
dancers that is surrounded by young and old people which is a quite a number of people that is
displaying the essence of fiestas, it also shows the abundance of food which an indication of Filipino
hospitality and celebration. The fiesta in Filipino culture is a symbolism of gratefulness and gratitude for
the abundance of life and blessings that the people received through the days.

The painter used natural light in his paintings and developed the backlighting technique, and a
subject of human figures and illuminating landscape.
The painting is depicting the rural life of Filipino people and shows the vibrance of our
culture, the painting is aesthetically showing the beautiful life away from the city and
how celebration brings people together regardless of age and backgrounds. In the
painting I can feel warmth of the people portraying the unity which is a vital structure of
the society, the illuminating landscape shows our rich natural resources, on the other
hand, the people and the things they are doing is a reflection of our culture that serves
as our identity.
