SYPHON ENERGIES SOLAR CLEANING ROBOT

At Syphon Energies we are developing a solar farm cleaning robot which will clean megawatt scale
solar power plants without consumption of water and electricity.

With a vision to clean solar farms without water in order to save tremendous amount of water we
are developing this machine; a large amount of labour force is risking their life by cleaning high
voltage solar cells which can uncertainly lead to their death. On an average 500 tonnes of water is
utilized every year to clean 1 MW of solar power plant.

SOFTWARE FEATURES REQUIREMENT
1. A web layout for controlling of robot is require, it should be either application or any website
domain hosting, secured with username and password.
2. Web layout should indicate and control following data’s: -
2.1. Battery Percentage
2.1.1.If battery drains below 25% user should be alerted by buzzer before performing
operation.
2.1.2.It should indicate charging status of battery as it will be provided with solar panel
charger.
2.2. Real time camera footage
2.2.1.Two cameras will be installed in each machine, one will be inside for monitoring
cleaning process and other will be outside for maintenance or to observe path.
2.2.2.User can take video in pen drive, or video should be saved in hard disk attached by user.
2.3. ON/OFF control
2.3.1. User can start and stop machine manually.
2.4. Emergency Stop
2.4.1.Incase of unavoidable circumstances user could stop the machine by emergency stop
where power will be cut-off from battery and all functions will come to end.
2.5. Back to station/dock
2.5.1.This function will reverse the direction of motor in between the on-going operation as a
signal to bring machine on dock.
2.6. Number of machines installed in power plant along with their feeded location.
2.6.1.In case of more than 1 machine supplied user could easily identify the machine, when
performing cleaning operation.
2.7. Motors Control
2.7.1. Machine speed control in Levels like (1,1.2,1.3,1.4…...) as small step as possible.
2.7.2. Brush height adjustment in Levels like (1,1.2,1.3,1.4…...) as small step as possible.
2.7.3.Brush rotation speed control in Levels like (1,1.2,1.3,1.4…...) as small step as possible.
2.8. User setting options
2.8.1.User need to start the machine and it will return to its dock automatically by sensing
end of solar panel.
2.8.2.User need to input the distance to be travel by machine in meters.
2.8.3.Schedule timer option, where machine will start on its own at user defined time
additionally will also return to its docking station automatically.
2.8.4.Brush Height Settings, user can adjust the height of brush by saving it as default.
3. Key Note: -
3.1. Rotation of brush motor in forward or reverse direction should be programmed and could
not be toggle by user.
3.2. Incase of user opts to bring machine back to dock following action should happen: -
3.2.1. Brush rotation should be stopped.
3.2.2.Height of brush should be decreased
3.2.3.Machine should start moving in reverse direction
3.3. When machine returns to docking station, it should be Off, only solar charging status should
be visible to web layout.
3.4. Difference between emergency stop and off will be, when user opt for off only rotation of
wheels should be terminated, however rotation of brush and height of flat brush will be as it
is happening.

HARDWARE CONTROLLING REQUIREMENT
1. Working time approximately 2.5 hrs
2. Height of flat brush to be adjustable
3. Rotation of brush
4. Speed of machine
5. Sensors attached and its operation: - Ultrasonic, Magnetic, IR sensor.

While using IR sensor

a. Machine should sense the end of solar panel by means of IR sensor and one
mechanism, it should start returning to its docking station by reversing the motors and
cleaning procedure. At returning again by help of IR sensor it will sense the docking
station and come to end.
b. If machine is moving forward, flat brush installed on back side of machine will be
operated at time.
c. If machine is moving reverse, flat brush installed on front side of machine will be
operated at time.
d. There should be user defined program which can operate both flat brushes
simultaneously.
e. Height of brush will be as per user defined at time of operation.
f. In case, user should have option to stop the involvement of flat brush.

While using Ultrasonic sensors

a. Machine will sense any obstruction in between, Incase if there is removal of solar
panel in between array for maintenance work machine will sense the gap and will
stop at position in addition will start returning to dock.
b. During this process also flat brush sides should be changed.
