- R.A 9165 is a Filipino law that is intended to reduce the amount of dangerous drug use
in the Philippines. As a student, I will support the law through personal efforts. I will
commit to not using illegal drugs and will encourage my family and friends to do the
same. Perhaps I can use my voice and knowledge to educate and influence my peers
about the dangers of using illegal drugs.
2. What is the importance of Dangerous Drugs Law, specifically to the NSTP students and
the community in general?
- The Dangerous Drugs Act is important to us NSTP students because it protects our
physical and mental health from the negative effects of dangerous drugs.
3. Do you agree that most of the crimes committed in our country has somehow been
attributed to substance abuse? How? Cite an example news article.
- There is a strong link between drug abuse and crime. Drug addicts commit crimes to
pay for their drugs, causing harm to society. Furthermore, many criminals are under the
influence of drugs when they commit crimes. Another consequence of drug abuse is

Using the table below, enumerate the differences of Medicine and Drugs and cite an
example.

“Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs has led to thousands of extrajudicial
killings, raising human rights concerns, says expert John Gershman in this interview. What is your
say on this statement? Does a war on drugs is a failure ? Or does it give a glimpse of
peacefulness, safeness and drug free country? Explain your answer profoundly.

- The advantage of extrajudicial killings of drug dealers and addicts is that it has deterred
other criminals from committing crimes in public. The disadvantage is that innocent
civilians are being used as a scapegoat. It is morally repugnant which raised the human
rights concerns.

- I do not believe that the war on drugs has been a failure because, unlike in the past, there
are fewer drug addicts on the streets, particularly at night. People around me tell me that
they feel safer going home at night because drug dealers and users have gone into hiding
and are doing everything they can to remain hidden. Furthermore, the decreased crime
rate demonstrates that the government is succeeding.
