The completion of any inter-disciplinary project depends upon cooperation, co-ordination and
combined efforts of several sources of knowledge. We are grateful to our guide in this project
Prof. Mansi jain for his even willingness to give us valuable advice and direction; whenever we
approached him with a problem .We are thankful to him for providing immense guidance for this
project.
We are also thankful to Prof. Brajendra Kumar, department of Civil engineering ITMGOI for
his immense guiding in Material Analysis and testing Part of our project.
We are also thankful to Prof. Akansh jain for providing us relevant data and moral support for
completion of our project.
We are also thankful to Engg. Kazy Khalil Ullah, S.E. Public Works Department , for giving his
critical and most important advices which makes us to think out-of-the-box and come up with
better ideas.
We are also thankful to Prof. Ravi Jadon , department of Civil engineering ITMGOI for his
immense guiding and continuous moral motivation to achieve and innovate something better and
make every second count.
We are also thankful to Dr. Rahgvendra Sahu , Prof. & Head, Department of Civil
Engineering and all the staff members for their immense cooperation and motivation for
completing out the project.
In our P.B.L project we have given the task to study and research on “Green technology
application in construction” with all related information and required analysis and theories.
Engineering education system remains dominated by the chalk and talk technique despite the
large body of education research that demonstrates its ineffectiveness. During our P.B.L project
we have broken these barriers and we applied our theoretical knowledge practically and making
our environment better and improved.
Green building laws and codes in our country are voluntary. till date, india
does not have an effective and comprehensive green building code. the
united states green building council established leed, which stands for
leadership in energy and environmental design. today, leed is an
internationally recognized green building certification system, which provides
third-party verification for a building or community designed and built using
strategies intended to improve performance in metrics, such as energy
saving, water efficiency, reduced co2 emissions, improved indoor
environmental quality, stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their
impacts. the green indicators of leed have been adopted by as many as 57
countries, and are considered benchmarks. LEED india sets down
standards that have been customised according to indian conditions, in terms
of the design, construction and operation of buildings for environment-
friendly performance.
Its rating system is amended regularly to address not only the Indian
environmental and climatic conditions but also the sustainability issues of
buildings. site development, water resource utilization, energy, material
selection and indoor environment are the key areas focused upon while
amending the system. The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) is
attempting to indigenize LEED according to the environmental conditions
prevalent in India. The IGBC Green Homes rating is said to
be the first rating programme created exclusively for Indian homes by the
Council. It defines green buildings as buildings which use less water,
optimise energy efficiency, conserve natural resources, generate less waste
and provide healthier spaces for occupants, as compared to conventional
buildings.
The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Airconditioning
Engineers (ISHRAE), established 30 years ago on the lines of the American
Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Airconditioning, offers guidance in the art
and science of ventilation, heating, refrigeration and airconditioning.
It has joined hands with IGBC to act as a guide for energy- efficient
airconditioning.
GRIHA, an acronym for Green Rat- ing for Integrated Habitat Assessment, is
now the National Rating System of India. Conceived by TERI (The Energy
and Resources Institute), and devel- oped jointly with the Ministry of New
and Renewable Energy, Government of India, GRIHA is a green building
design evaluation system. It provides basic prerequisites for green buildings
in terms of the following :
a) climate-based layouts and designs to minimise energy consumption
b) waste water treatment and recycling with zero external discharge
c) use of fly ash blocks for walls and slabs to maximise use of recycled
material
d) maximum use of natural lighting and optimum indoor air quality
GRIHA has been conceived by TERI and developed jointly with the
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India. It is a
green building 'design evaluation system', and is suitable for all kinds
of buildings in different climatic zones of the country.

Study of Green Building Construction:-
(Centre for Environmental Science and Engineering, IIT Kanpur)
Score: 93/100
Key Highlights
Significantly reduces the heat gain entering the building and hence the cooling requirements for
cooling the heat through envelope.
Use of variable frequency drive for Air handling units significantly reduced the running cost for
cooling requirements
Use Daylight sensors which turns off the artificial light when the living space is illuminated by
daylight , use of occupancy sensor.
Working Components of Green building:-
Wall Insulation
