TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

Dear All,

RE: OPERATING TIMES FOR USE OF FOTHERGILL ISLAND AIRSTRIP

We hope this letter finds all of you well and safe.

Subsequent to our correspondence on the 17th of June 2021 to the Aviation and
Tourism Communities, we are pleased to confirm that with effect from the 1st of August
2021 Fothergill Island Lodge was finally re-opened and is now accepting guests. The
re-opening of the Lodge has necessitated a number of necessary key changes for the
use of Fothergill Island Airstrip.

These changes are brought about mostly as a result of the increased air traffic at
Fothergill Island and to try and mitigate the negative effect on our guests but they are
also being instituted to deal with the increased safety concerns that have arisen as a
result of passengers walking unattended through the bush on the island to connect
with houseboats.

Therefore, Approval Letters going forward will be issued for flights to Fothergill Island
on the following basis:

• All third-party passenger flights will only be authorized to arrive and depart
between 09:00 and 12:00 daily.

• Only flights with passengers that have bookings for the following lodges and
activities will be authorized to arrive and depart within the above mentioned
“operating window” of 09:00 to 12:00 daily:

o Changa Safari Lodge

o Spurwing Island
o Rhino Safari Camp
o Sanyati Lodge
o Pre-arranged guided tented activities in Matusadona National Park

Tashinga Airstrip has also been opened again and is in fantastic condition - thanks to
the hard work of African Parks and the Matusadona Conservation Trust. The team at
Tashinga is very welcoming and Approval Letters can be sourced via Rob Reid (Park
Manager) on robertr@africanparks.org and he will direct your request to be actioned
accordingly.
