Stages of Reading

1) Pre- Reading is the process of skimming a text to locate key ideas before carefully reading a text
(or a chapter of a text) from start to finish… Pre Reading typically involves looking at (and
thinking about) tittles, chapter introduction, summaries headings, subheadings, study, questions
and conclusions.
2) During reading or while reading the teacher stops students of a strategies points in the story to
ask students to make additional predictions and to verify, reject or modify their purposes and
predictions. After reading, to their asks students to find and read aloud any part of the text that
supports their predictions
3) Post Reading after reading activities are ones in which students summarize, reflect or question
what they have just read. They`re ideal for building reading comprehension and there are a
number of activities you can do.
